Thread: New Pilot Officer Reporting For Duty Sir.

  1. #1

Smile New Pilot Officer Reporting For Duty Sir.

Now then this is all more than a little bit worrying,
six hours training, just about scraped through and here I am posted to 'The Aerodrome' of the UK Wing.

I here the C.O. is a nice chap though, so that's comforting,

Pilot officer 'Boney10 held my hand, or should is say...'covered my Wing' during training flight school....
2 sorties at Derby Warlords in late 2014....taught me flying is in my blood....just hope the blood stays in me long enough!

So Flying Officer Kyte wrote me a nice welcome, and now I am waiting to get my first assessment sortie..
then if I make the grade...off to bag me a Hun or two!

Nothing like the eagerness of a raw recruit!

So this is me 'Maverick' ....certainly not a 'top gun' yet....just maybe one day!

Looking forward to meeting the other pilots soon,

for now a 'Hi' to other pilots where eve you are,
    fly safe,
Never fly in a straight line for more than thirty seconds,
    and 'Watch your six'!

    Tally Ho.......

    Good morning Wingman.
I see you have preempted the message I just sent to you, so I can now welcome you to the Drome Officially on behalf of the Squadrons based here in Dear old Blighty.
Before you join us all in the Mess for a beer or three and a good old chinwag,
I should just point out to you that Pilot officer Boney10 is actually Squadron Leader Boney10, but as he is such a nice chap, I'm sure he will forgive the gaffe from a new pilot, especially as I hear that he was masquerading in some fancy dress Naval uniform at the time you met him. I will be having a word with him about that later!
Anyway, enjoy your sojourn with us here on the Drome Simon, from another very nice chap.
    Kyte.

Simon welcome from UK North of England Squadron HQ. Hope to see you flying a sortie or two at the behest of our good old (sorry WingCo not so old, long in the tooth, no that's me getting in deeper, a veteran of the skies, yes that's better), veteran of the skies WingCo.

I hear Doncaster will have plenty of action this year, might see you there if you're not on R&R.

    TTFN.
See you on the Dark Side......

Right Squadron Leader Skafloc, you may report to my Office. Form in the queue just behind Squadron Leader Boney10. He will be the one in the Napoleonic Naval Uniform.

Welcome Simon, glad you enjoyed both Derby and Hammerhead yesterday. I usually prefer the sky in my Roland or some such, but yesterday was a change.
Before rumours abound about cross dressing, and the fact that as soon as I got home I ripped of my SWMBO's dress, especially as
I found the straps real chaffed my shoulders, oops did that come out loud ?..
It was a temporary duty with the RN yesterday, honest Sir that's my story honest
Back to Simon, if you have any questions just shout, someone will pop along and answer, as for sorties.
There is WMSS next Sunday in Wolverhampton.
Possible another new show in Staffird in May, Triples in Sheffield in ?May , World Champs in Derby , you know that one and our own weekend get together in Sept at the Doncaster air museum.
Hope to see you again soon

G'day Simon & welcome to the 'drome on behalf of the pilots who fly in NSW down in the Southern Colonies!

Just a word that may help you if you run foul of the Establishment. (i.e. Wing Commander Kyte)
A bottle of Gin will usually grease the wheels for any misdemeanour's & if extremely bad try a couple!

Watch out for the Hun in the Sun!

Thanks for the welcome and advice,

I wondered why three empty bottles in the waste basket during my arrival interview!

Simon, you might want to look at the two icons bottom right of every post, they will save you replying to each individually. The "Reply with quote" icon will insert whatever post you are replying to, and the one with quotes in speech bubble and a plus sign allows you to flag numerous posts so you lump them all into one reply. Click this for each post you want to respond to, then hit 'reply' to one of them.

Doncaster is the 19th and 20th of September Simon.
You should be able to find other dates of interest either on this U.K. sub forum under various posts, or if the organizer has done what he should, on the calendar of events on the banner bar at the top of this page.
