Will the maps be rolled up or folded? Both have disadvantages, a rolled map can be difficult to get flat and a folded map will have creases.

I'm confused. The WW2 app is only on iOS but not android yet the WW1 version will be available on both.
I use android and only play WW2, what are my options? Any news on an android release?
Sam.
I just donwloaded the app yesterday. From what I can see at first glance, it covers only the Wings of Glory miniatures (So no BF109s etc).
Covered planes are:
Fighters
Curtiss P-40
FW-190 D
Fiat CR-42
Gloster Gladiator
Kawasaki Ki-61-I
Nakajima KI-64 Hayate
P-51D Mustang
Reggiane Re.2001
Spitfire Mk.IX
Yakovlev Yak-1
Heavy Fighters
Bristol Beaufighter
Messerschmitt Bf.110
Bombers
Heinkel He111
North American B-25
The app tracks fuel consumption (the fuel level is adjustable, so you can assign half a tank to your plane. Fuel consumption is tracked by pressing the fast or slow movement button) and alltitude.
I do not believe you can assign damage cards to the planes (Perhaps, this will still be implemented?).
Overall, it is a nice idea, which should be expanded uppon. I would wish for a damage deck (might be that I just haven't found it?) and a movement deck for planning, then the app would be perfect.
As is, I would assume you do not really need it if you are playing only with six to eight planes. If you use a lot more the app will be helpful
I won't complain about a WWI version and would certainly get it.

Just over $9800 to go for Scenario Books!
If they assign a damage deck and movement deck for planning then you don't have to buy their models to play Henrick...so I can't see that happening !
I joined as an EB Collector, but reality hit me hard and I had to withdraw. $219 US is a great price but the Aussie dollar is diving like a kamikaze zero and has dropped to an unaffordable exchange for me. Sorry I'll have to wait for the std retail release in October which will give me more time to save up.
Well, you still need the models. But I guess you have a point.
However, with all the info available here at the aerodrome and on bgg you could proxy anything, which is already available.
The app is for free and a nice gimick as is. I am not sure that Ares would experience any financial drawback if those decks would be included.
On the other hand, I certainly do not have any insight into their numbers or sale strategy. Thus, I might be completely wrong...
Tally HO
Have joined the pledge scheme
the multiple bomber table at last games show will be maxed out next year if everyone gets the bombers on the table
could be a magnificent site
can't wait for October!

The London maps are drawn at a lower altitude to give higher resolution on the ground targets. As such, they will not really combine with the other two mats in the KS or the the 3 CCC mats. Think of the London mats at tactical mats and all the rest as strategic mats.
the 3 CCC mats are printed on neoprene (exactly like a cloth mouse pad) and Ares plans to do the same thing to these 4 new mats at a later date.
This KS might open up the option for Ares to offer other less "main stream" aircraft via KS as well.
As for Series 8, still waiting for the docks on the west cost to start moving freely again.
They will be folded in order to fit into the mini boxes. But we are getting them in mouse pad form at some point later on... so not a huge issue.
Thanks Alex. Great news. Hope you guys reach it. Stellar effort so far.
Well, I jumped in at the veteran level this morning before going to work and had no problems with registering or "giving" them my pledge. It's a great deal compared to the planned cost of the planes when they're released for all to buy. It's really cool that they've raised this much so quickly.
All the best,
Matt
There's plenty of other things out there.
But if they took my advice and it works out, then *we* get to mock *you*.
I wouldn't mind having two more planes added to the kickstarter like the Caproni Ca. 4 or the Felixstowe.
Would be cool, but unlikely--the only reason this is happening as fast as it is is because these two aircraft have already been in prep for quite a while and are at the point where all that's left to do is finalize the "paper" content going with the minis in the package and pay the factory to go forward with production with however many units.
We all want to think Instant Gratification, but development on a product like this has a lot of Behind the Scenes stuff we don't see and there's a lot of time required for that that we don't know about. It's a wonder the game industry has survived at all with the clash of long-lead-time production vs. Gamer ADD...
I have to agree i would like to have seen some more aircraft as strech goals rather than items like the maps, scenario book that were already going to be included in the packs. As they are already finalised and ready to print regardless- let's face it, these items are standard with all the bigger models, the hard management cards are any easy upgrade.
So all that was really left was to get the $20,000 in the bank to roll out production. The app I can see requiring an additional budget but unless the US ports are still closed for me autumn I really don't see this project falling behind - all the design work is done.
The veteran pledge level + map set + shipping to Germany stresses my monthly (fun-)budget a lot.
So I'm happy thet the strech goals are really cheap or without additional cost.
If this WoG KS goes well - nothing speaks against a Felixstowe F.2. & Caproni Ca. 4 project with a founding goal of 20.000 $, too.
I think this is the best way for Ares Games release the exotic birds we all want.
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
The strechgoal maps have exactly the same size as the original gaming mats.
(Question I asked Ares via Kickstarter)
Do you know that I pledge each day over the Euro/US-Dollar exchange rate.
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
I am in backer of this one.
$4700 to Scenario Books! (Well, a little more... if everyone else gets us close enough I'll make the last push to get it over again.)
I am all for the maps! Great they are of the official size
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
Backed the project, went for a Rookie one, good deal. Not sure how I'm going to store them though
Around $3850 to go for Scenario Booklets...
Good news ... yesterday got $3612 pledged in support, reversing the downward trend, with it being the largest single-day amount in the last four days!
Weird news, though ... according to www.kicktraq.com, today's total pledges so far are ... -$49!!! How can it be negative dollars???
Kickstarter is so strange !!!

Somebody could have changed or withdrawn their pledge Eris.

$65,112 - scenario Stretch Goal reached!
Great news. Onward and upward.

Amazing.
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
Seen it before, saw the drop on the KS page, it was a pledge reduction.
There isn't one yet--you have to add to yourr pledge, then remember what you added it for and the add-ons will be at the end-of-campaign Pledge Manager. Personally, I usually send the project owner a note about my add-on selections when I revise them, but this one I'm holding off for a bit.
I'm not holding back on money, just haven't really decided how many of each add-on I need--by adding to the pledge but not committing the funds to any specific add-on until later I can be more flexible just in case they add and we meet, say, free damage markers.
OT, my handle is one word, as in "Diamondback Rattlesnake," specifically referring to Crotalus atrox aka the Western Diamondback.
