Where am I ?!
Where am I ?!
Same place as I, which is?
See you on the Dark Side......
Witches?
BURN THEM!!!!!!!
Yes Chris.
In England witches were in fact swum. If they sank they were innocent, and if the water rejected them and they floated they were guilty, and were then hanged.
In France and Scotland they were burnt at the stake. We reserved burning for heretics.
I don't know which route they adopted in the States.

All of the above ?! (just to be sure !)
Take off and Nuke the entire site from orbit - it's the only way to be sure! (Ripley & Hicks)
I've emailed stafford games to see if they can offer any pre order discount for the show. I'll let you all know if I get a positive reply.
K.
Seems there will be quite a few chaps saying hello at Salute this year - Kieran & Simon, Barry and Peter as well as the usual suspects !
Roland from stafford games replied. He said they were putting a list together of items they would discount for the show and asked what I was looking for. I guess if anyone else wants anything else at the show, now it the time to contact them.
Sadly, no discount from Stafford games. I guess that there is only a limited mark up on the Ares stuff as pretty much everyone offers them at the same sort of price - ie 10% off rrp.
Alright kids?! What are we doing for the WWI scenario, Circa era? Can I purchase a thunderbolt/typhoon for the train...
P.s. Meanwhile in fantasy land, a black widow?
Recycling the game we did last year due to lack of time - crippled submarine being attacked by Brit seaplanes/airship and defended by German seaplanes. This year though we don't have a bloody great Zeppelin floatplane lumbering all over the shop.
Not certain what John's bringing to brass up the train, but pretty sure it will involve a Whirlwind or two.
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
Train tickets acquired - me and GK will be there with AJ about 0900 if all goes to plan.
Sapiens qui vigilat... "He is wise who watches"
Right Ho chaps, for tank busting I have 4 whirlwinds to attack the train, 4 Bf109s to defend it, assorted Spits and Hurris if the Whirlies go down in a blaze of ignominy... er glory!
If 1941 is a bit passe for you chaps, and you have Fw190s to hand, I have 2 Mosquitos for a more '43 flavoured bash, but I have not flown the fast era machines yet so it could all go horribly off the table.
the train is defended by two twin Oerlikon cannon. these use a non standard range ruler in three sections not the usual two. each section is a standard half. at three, B damage. at two, C damage. at one 2xC damage. and the guns can cross their fire at three and two.
Whirlies cause 2xC at long and 4xC at close range.
Nice one John. Hoping to be in by 9.30/10. C u in the morning.
Kit packed - check
Pre-orders made - check
Train tickets bought - check
Spaghetti stains out of aerodrome T-shirt - check
OK, we are good to go! See you guys there tomorrow.
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
Spad XII just packed - so I'm loaded for bear !
Have you decided a game start time and length, and how many we'll play yet ?
Sapiens qui vigilat... "He is wise who watches"
We'll try and keep then to around an hour each, max of 4 a side for WW1, but 3 a side is better especially if the punters are a bit hard of thinking
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
never mind the punters ... the early start will do me in !
See you there, chaps!
I will be at Salute but I will be splitting my time with the Lance and Longbow Society. If anyone wants to find me, ask for me there.
Good news, the new aircraft WILL be at Salute, Marquee Models telephoned me today (Friday) to say the models have arrived and they have earmarked some for me.
Barry
Mine are already in the barn Barry - See you there !
Have a great day tomorrow chaps, wish I could go but circumstances dictate otherwise this year.
I will be wearing a blue 'Lance and Longbow' sweat shirt and a harassed expression!
I just wanted to say a big thanks to the team at Salute today.
It was great fun to meet you all and to fly against "real" pilots rather than playing solo :-)
Big thankyou to Steve, Tim, John, Ajay & Si for the days gaming - a lot of fun had by all - and though WW2 is not our thing my son Martin (aka Gotha Killer at TWWS) and I cleaned house with 4 kills in the train busting scenario, of which he got 3 - he might have made ace if the Brits hadn't run out of planes... and targets !!!
Good to meet Simon (Maverick) who is dead keen to get stuck into the show roster so if anyone needs a hand give that man a shout and good to meet some keen players from the crowds at the show. Lead and fire all over the shop - Top notch !
Yep, it was a blast, in more ways than one!
Pictures to follow.........................
Great day yesterday and thanks to John, Tim, Dave, Simon and Andrew for helping out. Still haven't worked out why Forgeworld had a half-mile queue at their stand all day, perhaps the punters thought they were queuing to get a go at our game .
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
Glad to hear a good time was had by one and all Dave. Don't forget to submit requests for Minor con medals to me for those who have not had one yet.
Finally a big thank you to yourself and the rest of the chaps who did us proud once again this year. Just sorry I could not make it myself. I really enjoyed last year's show.
Rob.

I'm glad you got to the bottom of it Steve, if only we'd had a big enough table. Blinding games everyone, my first WWII games Stukas a go go, 1 sunk sub. I can feel the power of the darkside (WGS)...
I've got to apologise to Tim for calling him Chris all day, sorry dude.
Rob, you were missed.
I regret that while I was in the building I was not able to attend the game. Our Agincourt re-enactment took a little longer and as the French (me and my team) were winning I could not tear myself away.
At one stage King Henry V had to roll 15 dice and was looking for 4,5,6. What he got was 14 loads of 1,2,3 and a single 5. No wonder he lost.
The figures were all painted by one member. Thanks to him our game took three top prizes including second best in show, best historical and best demo game. We were rather happy.
Sorry about missing you guys.
Barry
I had a great time at Salute, it was great to meet old friends, and make new ones.
The first battle was the 'Hunt the Sub', and I had the chance to fly a Felixstow flying boat....mmmmmm
The set up
submarine scout, I really Need one
Flash takes FO Kyte's place as the squadron flamer
Ajay learns the hard way not to fly close alongside a Felixstow
front A turret, rear A turret, B waist gun, close range
General flying about
The sub tender takes a hit
And someone flies too close to the Felixstows again
Even Felixstows are not invulnerable
Sub tender destroyed, submarine bombed
Bl**dy good fun all round
I didn't take any more pictures, as I was either shopping for Macchi 5s, or running WWII games, but I know Tim will doubtless provide a marvelous pictoral extravaganza for our edification and delight in due course.
Great photo's - love the flying boats (checks pocket money ahead of Triples) - good table size as well. Sorry I missed it, definitely on my wish list for next year
Never Knowingly Undergunned !!
Here's the starting position for the WW1 game - disabled German sub being towed back to port, with a seaplane escort. The Brits are seen approaching at the far end to duff over the sub
A view of the 'office'
An F2A approaches the target while Dave keeps the Germans occupied. (Curse you John for pinching my Wingco joke )
Did we mention how many guns an F2A has? A HB W29 finds out the hard way
Meanwhile the airship has sneaked in and dropped its bombs on the motor boat towing the sub.
Innit funny that, no matter how big the table, it always eventually comes down to 2 square foot of space. Another Brit nips out for a smoke.
The motor boat finally succumbs, and Dave goes for a swim.
In case he is picked up by the Germans on the sub, he has a cunning plan!
Two bang cards in one go - how unlucky is that?
So the end was a bit of a score draw with the sub still afloat but the Brits not having a lot of resources to do anything about it.
Second game just about to kick off
Much the same action as the first game
Except the sub wasn't so lucky this time
And while no-one was looking....
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
Flame On !! Think that's me banging my head on the table in the background !An F2A approaches the target while Dave keeps the Germans occupied...
Thanks for starting the ball rolling in the photographic department John.
A fine study of how not to tackle a Felix.
Yes those submarine scouts are great. I wish I got the chance to use mine more frequently.
Rob.
