That looks good for the Germans; any chance of a tail box for the USN?

    Sure thing.
I have to finish painting an arrow for my son the cub scout. After that, I'll make a batch with boxed fins.

I did five with the nosecap and tail-fin box, and five with just the tail-fin box.

Meanwhile, on the actual table, painting of the arrow progresses, plus 10 Kettering Bugs are taking shape.

They say NFS on Shapeways John. Are they still in the development stage?

    They look perfect. Thanks John.
So what's the arrow project for, if I could ask? As a cub scout, he's a bit young for the Order of the Arrow, no?

Not much done this month, not more than a few games, either. But I did get the Wings of War Damage Chits done! Four Damage Chit sets (A and B single sheets of 44, a double C sheet and a quadruple D sheet). High Quality Print PDFs in the moderation queue. These should be suitable for Print & Play Games to use, if people want die-cut double-sided counters, complete with the Aerodrome logo, and Wings of War background colors.

Sorry, but a squirrel got in the way of the plane cards. The damage chit thing seemed a higher priority.

Oh, and I got an "A" for my mid-term mark in Computer Graphics! Thanks for all the practice, guys.

    Andrzej,
Can you explain to me the white putty wrapped around the one plane? Is it an application of putty to fill in gaps, a kind of painters tape substitute, or something else?

All right. It is not a putty. It is a kind of light adhesive white stuff used to attach posters to a wall, sold in the form of little white squares. Sometimes I used it to mask parts of a model (like that on the picture) and then airbrush the rest of it. It serves much better than a masking tape, for thanks to it's "bulky" shape the airbrush leaves nice smooth/hazy edges between the camo lines. Of course it is not a real issue in 1:200 scale, but ... it's fun.

Here is the effect of the airbrushed brown colour over the Shapeways model of the Soviet Pe-2 you saw masked on the photo above. It turned out the way I wanted.

You cannot beat that Silly Putty! Now you need about six coats of dull and gloss coat to even out the finish!

I know that, Rich That is the cost of using WSF material. Gloss varnish will even the surfaces and allow better decal placement. Then matt coat over it.

Thanks! BPD is a unique design for WGS! Are you going to recreate any Dunkirk evac mission with Bf 109s taken by surprise?

    Might do.
It was actually going to be used as Kyte's hack for Malta. He needs a bit of excitement other than riding his bike round bomb craters and debris in the road.

On my bench are 2 N11s and some 15mm WW2 early was Germans and 2 French Char C2s. At Cold Wars I'm running a hypothetical scenario where the French in trying to escape with their outdated monster tanks having to fight their way to safety.

I have been working on a repaint of camel ace Donald Roderick MacLaren.

I believe I have the decals done.....a sample below.

Looks to be a fairly easy repaint of a Barker camel. Just got the repaint done. Still need to coat it and print out the decals/apply, final touch ups and finish clear coat. So got a few hours left on it.

Bob, I am running a WGF game Saturday evening, a Zeppelin returning from a London raid flying low under some weather. Friday evening I run the Battlefront WW2 game.
If you can stop in Saturday you're in the game. If you can't play stop by and say hi. It would be good to meet you.

At Fall In I stayed at the Red Roof Inn, as I am at Cold Wars.

With these big birds I don't think a gimbal mount isn't necessary. Not going to be any fancy maneuvering! I'll have to get a few of these larger magnets for the 2 Staakens I have.

K&J Magnetics is where I got mine. The price was about a quarter per magnet. 5/16" x 1/32" fits fine on the bomber peg.

As for gimbals... I've been avoiding them, though I'm leaning towards giving them at try with Shapeways planes at least.

Speaking of... more from my now rather chaotic looking table.

A much more organized work area than I give myself. My photo strategically omits the 6 other planes, 28mm F&IW figures, 15mm WW2 Italians, Belgian armor, US armor, SFB Feds, Kzinti, Gorn, Hydrans.... 15mm SYW figures. I need more focus!
