    Default Hello everyone!

    Hello Fellow Flyers;
    My name is Matt and I am new to WoG and forums, so please excuse me if I seem like a complete noob. I am from Ontario, Canada and have be fascinated by WW1 since childhood when my father build me a stick and tissue model of a Nieuport. Now in my forties I am reliving some childhood interests including early aviation. I have built a few models know and was looking for a cool colour scheme for my Fokker D6 and stumbled across the minis on the net. Well now I went crazy bought a starter set and the rules and accessories pack and now have several planes in the hanger including a Gotha and some two seaters. I invited my friends to play our first match and I think they were initially skeptical as they are into video games but they had a blast and we couldn't wait to play more. I found a really nice image of English country side that I printed and mounted to Foamcore. We are excited to give that a try. I just wanted to thank everyone for posting such great info here it is welcoming to newcomers like me to have a great reference point. Happy flying! Regards Aftermath aka. Matthew

    From a fellow newcomer, welcome aboard! I just joined the Aerodrome yesterday after placing my order for WoG WWI just a few hours earlier. My shipment is still in the mail, so I've yet to play a single game - but I've been pouring over the rules and thinking about jumping in for months now.

    I've only been around here for about 24 hours, but I don't think I've found a more welcoming, supportive, big-hearted group of gamers anywhere.

    PS: if you go to the "settings" menu on the top tight of the screen, you can pick out a cool avatar for your posts (something I discovered a couple of hours ago!).

    Matthew,
    A hearty welcome to the 'drone! You've started with a bang. At least you have a few players close at hand.

    Post pictures of your set up, and your planes (especially if you have a custom paint job).

    Hello Everyone;
    Thank you for the very warm welcome. I will definatly try to contribute anywhere I can as it seems like a great community here. I told my friends of the new map/play are and they can't wait to give it a whirl. I have not custom painted any minis yet but would love to do a Zeppelin Stakken R. When I figure out how to post a picture from my phones library I will post my Fokker D6 model from Aerowerkes all mocked up it was a rubber powered model rc conversion. Thanks again for the heat felt welcome.

    Hi Matt.
    Welcome to the Drome on behalf of the Squadrons based here in Dear old Blighty.
    I'm sure that the chaps and chapesses here will give you all the help you need in getting to grips with this absorbing game in all its many facets.
    In the meantime Fly safe, watch your six and watch out for the enemy in the Sun.
    Cheers.
