Without a doubt! Not sure if it's a "thing" on your side of the Pond, but a large percentage of "New Year's Resolutions" deal exactly with this issue... minus the marsupial, of course.

Definitly a Possum! Wombats are nowhere as cute, darker colour, larger & built like a rock. You just do not want to hit a Wombat in your vehicle.
Re the Possum. Now I know what the problem was with the one sitting in the middle of the road that I encounted on the way home from our games club. He just sat there & I had to straddle him with my wheels. No damage but he might have a bit of PTSD!

Well whether it's a thing or not over here, my New Year's resolution certainly dealt with this very issue
