Default My personal Quiz:) Everyone is invited!

I feel we all have been waiting for a quiz or contest for a while, so an idea came to my mind I owe the Community so much and a new quiz could reflect my gratitude to all of you chaps who supported my ORIGINS 2013 escapade, that was a true trip of my life
Well, in fact it is annonced for fun so I hope you will have FUN chasing for the answers

Below you will find three questions considering the history of Polish air force (how could I ask any other questions )

The first of you who send 3 correct answers will get a Black Box of goodies I promise to complete and send worldwide (shipping is on me). You do not know what will be in the box (well, I do not know yet either ), but you won't regret receiving it I suppose.

Your answers should be sent directly to my email address and the first one who delivers the right answers (all of them) will be announced the winner. I can not provide you with anything like a , but ... maybe Eric or Keith may offer one...

    The address is: nightbomber.as@gmail.com
The Contest closes by the end of February at the latest, but once I get thet right answers - it is closed as well

Sorry Polish forumers: You are excluded from the contest.

    THE QUESTIONS ARE:

    1. The American volunteers formed the famous Kościuszko Fighter Squadron and fought alongside Poles in Polish uniforms during the Polish-Soviet War of 1919-20. Some of the brave American pilots lost their lives for Polish new reborn state. What were their names?

    2. I have painted one of my Fokker D.VIII planes into Polish 1920 scheme (well, I named it EDYTA, my lovely wife's name - a fantasy scheme). You can see it below.

The question is: why this type of plane is SO important in the Polish Air Force History?

    3. The famous Polish 303rd squadron fighting during the Batlle of Britain was a bunch of authentic warriors and individuals. One of them was Josef Frantisek, a Czech pilot, who chose the Polish colleagues to fight side by side for our common freedom . But there was another one...a Polish pilot, who was also a foreign citizen - a Swiss one - who was flying as a member of the 303rd... Who was that pilot?

    Salute,
    Andy.

P.S. Multiple entries allowed So you can always send another set of 3 answers, the first one who sends the correct ones, wins

    Doh!

I have to say finding tangible/understadable information on the 1st question was very hard for English speakers..... not much info out there if you don't speak Polish or Russian!

I second that. I had to search quite creatively to find one of the answers.

Wow... good questions, Andy. And here I am, a day late and a dollar short (a couple of hours, at least)... best of luck to those who answered before me! But I hope you answered wrong!

I have the right books, but not on the second question, and it is too late to go chasing after that now, so well done to whoever wins the black box, and thanks very much for arranging this diversion Andy.

I second that! A great distraction between emergency earthquake/Tsunami evacuation training and burning last years Christmas performance DVD'S for the teachers. For me second question was easy ( That's if I got it right) first was the hardest as I was 100% do pendant on the interwebthingy.

Looking forward to see what the correct answers were and who won..... Its like a pub quiz for n the mess.

Next rounds on my lads and who's going to tinkle on joanna??

I feel the same way... a masterful contest full of difficult questions that were quite challenging (unless I got them correct, first)!

Congrats Heмaњa! I may be a day late, but it was a fun morning's research! I learned things about Polish history that I never knew before.

BTW, did anyone else read this article? I stumbled across it on my research for the Kościuszko Squadron:

Last Saturday I had beautiful wake up. Early in the morning mailman delivered me large package from, you can guess, Poland! Of course, I opened it immediately to see what's inside. And it was a lot! I received Zero, Val, Blohm und Voss Viking (!) in 1:200 and PZL.37 Łoś in 1:144 (although I don't play WoG in that scale, it will be great contribution to my collection, and it's already on the shelf ). Also, Andrzej sent me very nice badge with Polish szachownica roundel, together with card telling about one of Polish Liberator's crew history. Here is picture of opened package (forgive it's poor quality).

I am happy the parcel arrived safely to your place, Heмaњa.

I know, that PZL P37 is in 1:144, but as it is a very nice and unique plane IMHO, I just wanted to give it to you as a standalone figure.

Łoś is real beauty, and it would be nice to have it produced by Ares or, at least, Shapeways.

Nice! Once again, Andrzej proves himself to be a class-act... and this is a worthy reward for your victory in his trivia contest. Congratulations!
