GWAC Scenario 04: Artois – by WWIflyingace

In order to tie down German forces and hopefully regain lost territory the French with British support attack at several points.

The situation:
This is a bomber/interception mission.

Objective:
If flying a German aircraft your objective is to find and bomb a key munitions depot supporting the Entente attacks. To do this you have a bomb armed Taube with a Pfalz flying escort. Both aircraft have rifle armed observers.

If flying an Entente aircraft your objective is to shoot down the German bomber before it can bomb and destroy the ammunition depot. Your observer has a semi-automatic rifle; if flying a single seat aircraft the weapon(s) may be fixed with one on each side, but each only has half a firing arc depending on the side where the weapon is attached.

If the Germans destroy the depot they win; if they fail to destroy the depot the Entente win.

Setup:
This scenario takes place on the Entente side of the front. Set up a trench line to represent the Entente line. Two and a half rulers back set up three AA-artillery units. A ruler and a half behind them set up three target cards each defended by an A-machinegun card. Only one of the target cards is real (the Entente player selects which). To destroy the depot the Germans have to locate the proper target by flying within half a ruler and be no higher than altitude level 3. Once the real target is located it is destroyed by a full bomb load.

German aircraft start on their map line which is a ruler and a half from the Entente trench line. Entente aircraft may start anywhere on their side of the trench line.
