Thread: Get the group together again!

Default Get the group together again!

Hello fellow IL, WI players and anyone else. We had an active group up until about a year ago. I would like to get that going again with monthly happenings from Jan. until May/June. I talked to several people about this at What-Khan and everybody seemed interested. CrashX was going to look into a game day in Rockford during Feb. I am willing to host a game day at my house in Aurora on March 14. Can anybody else arrange with a LGS or host an event during Jan, Apr, May/June? Our previous events were a lot of fun, hope to get them going again.

I'm available to host a game at my place any Saturday from noon until midnight. You guys can stay over night and game into Sunday if you want. Beth and I game every Saturday at my place even if it's just the two of us. We can play WOW or boardgames or both. My collect of boardgames has grown considerably over the last 2 years. I think I'm at around 150 games so we have lots to choose from.
If any one is interested, let me know.

I am going to take you up on your offer Bob. I am going to be occupied the next several weekends. Are you guys available Sat. Jan. 10? If so, I would like to come up.

Saturday, January 10 will work for us. Just let me know so I can start planning it. I will need a head count. I can handle only 30 gamers at my place. What time should we start?

I'd like to get with the old gang again as well, I cant make Jan 10th , but if we start a regular 1 a month game I think I can do that..

Royal has freed up some space in the back, and there is a new store with some game tables that might be good to go to, I go there Tuesdays and Fridays for game as it is..

How about a noon start time? I have a couple new scenarios involving infantry and tanks that I'd like to try out.

We will look into that weekend, Bob. Hopefully, weather will not be a problem for anyone.

I will see about Saturdays in Bloomington at our FLGS. I will be running games on Monday evenings, and was hoping to on some Saturdays.

All right boys and girls, I need a head count for Sat. Jan. 10. I want to plan on making the food and beverage.
So far I only have Mike, Beth and myself with about 10 to 12 unsure replies yet.
Mike are you bringing any people with you?

I'm sorry, but we're unable to attend. One of my dearest friends lost both of his parents, and there will be a memorial service on the 10th.

Bob, we need to make reservations for Origins. Same set up as last time? If so, I will contact the hotel.

Our head count is at 6 players and I am still waiting for more replies.
We will be doing a WWI bomber with escorts attacking navel ships with fighter protection of the ships.
The other one will involve ground units (infantry and tanks).

Photos from the groups happening at La Casa Beth and Bob on Saturday, Jan. 10.

Found some neat top down ship models at Rock-Con last Nov. and made a scenario using them. 2 Gothas with escorts were sent to bomb the merchant ships. British force consisting of 3 Bris fits and 5 DH.4s were sent to intercept. Beth was flying the Rumplers and on Bobs advise (Bob was flying the Gothas), she moved to intercept the Bris fits (flown by me). On the first pass both Rumplers were afire and one of the Brisfits was smoking. Beth was quite displeased. However, she happy when Bob's Gothas were shot down. Unfortunately, the Germans were able to sink 3 merchantmen and win the scenario.

    Looks like a fun game!

    Question: which one's Bob?
(Beth I can work out for myself)
Any names for other faces please?

Doh! I knew I forgot some thing. L to R, Beth (Trenchwench), Jay, Dan, Eric, Aaron, Bob. At that point in the afternoon, Beth really didn't want to be to close to Bob.

That's me (Bob) on the far right with the jack daniel's shirt. My team mate (Beth) was laughing at me after I blew up.

I'm glad everyone had a great time. Mike both the scenarios were great and Beth and I are looking forward to them at Rock-con.
Just so everyone knows, I only had one Gotha blow up.

Fun looking bunch: BoB: I'm glad you did a better job on those merchies than you did on the monitor at Origins last year. This year, we're giving the Gothas torpedoes

Tim, I was taking the pictures so it would be tough for me to be in them. Also, I'm up for a February 7 happening.

Hi!! Thanks Mike for posting the pics.... We had fun and all the new pilots did a great job!!! I love my BBSuds, but after catching fire doing what he told me, I would have sworn he had life insurance out on me...lol. Mike had a great scenario and we all had fun. Hopefully we will see more of the Illinois squadron and some new Wisconsonites soon. Until then..... keep flying!!!!
