I was inspired to try this by Andrzej's thread here: http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/sho...es-Strike-Back

Make sure you refer Andrzej's original post in the above thread for the rules (plus the amendments and additions suggested by others).
I am putting together a little 'How-to' so that anyone else can 'roll their own' 2-D Zep. Watch this space...

Ok, I'm pondering the best way to do this.

    1. A series of posts with screen shots
    2. A downloadable pdf
    3. Both of the above

    Which would be most useful?

PDF would work for me, I don't know what would work for others.

OK, I'll put together a pdf and upload it but first some requirements for the successful completion of the task.

You need to go to this thread and download the file kindly provided by rOEN911. It is a compressed file so you will need to extract the 2 graphics files it contains onto your hard drive.
The thread is here: http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/sho...light=zeppelin and you need to scroll down to post #12

I only used the jpg file - the PNG file would be useful if you are printing a mat with a background and the Zeppelin as one. My method is to print a paper Zeppelin that can be placed on top of any playing surface.

The software I used was Microsoft Publisher.

If you can cope with all of the above you are good-to-go. Well you will be once I get the pdf written!

**Update** I have posted the pdf to the files section and it now awaits moderation (thinks did I delete the risqué nose-art??)

**Update to the Update** The pdf is now visible and available for download in the 'Hobby' section of the files (Thanks Keith!)

Now if you printed four of them and glued them in pairs onto both sides of a sheet of foam board cut to shape with matching slots you could slip them together and make a cool nearly 3D Zep, add stands and . . .

What a great idea!! The only problem there is that it is only a top view - now if I had a side view to match...

Still it's worth thinking about as a Christmas holiday project!

Really the zeps are symetrical so the top sides and bottoms are very much the same with a few details to add. The gondolas hang below the bottom keel . . . they too can be just made of silver painted foam core . . .

My Zeppelin is 131cm long. If you look at the photo I took of it on top of my mats in my first post, you can see that it is very nearly as long as two of the mats.

How dare you come along and diss Clippers Elves like that Matt.
We have all been following their activities with wonder for years.
It's people like you who don't believe in Santa, or Fairies isn't it.
Come on admit it, it is you!
