    Default New Wingnut Here!

Hi Folks, just dropping a few lines about me.
Came across this game a tear ago at Reading wargame show, the chaps running it were very helpful and had a nice little game with my then 7yr old.
This year same show but no little one,so i decided to have a good go at the ww1.Over a 1 hour later playing against flash his wingman and 3 others,i came to the conclusion i have to purchase this game.
Reasons are that its ideal for my son to learn so we can play it at home and get him into wargaming, but the main reason was ending the game with 4 kills one of them being Flash, sorry about that and his wingman running away.
So it this moment im waiting for the game to arrive from Stafford games, then the fun can begin.
Now my hobbies are wargaming i range from 15mm to 28mm in many periods,1/700 ww2 ships, mainly i wargame in 20mm ww2, and now branching out in wings of glory.
Im also a Deputy Commander in a clan of a online game. World of tanks(vert addictive).
So thats it really other than my name.
    regards
    Mark (old75er)

On behalf of the rest of the Pilots based here in the U.K. I can now give you a formal welcome to the Drome Mark.
Do pop along to the Officers Club, and have a few virtual beers and a chinwag with the chaps.

    The WW1 aircraft are 1/144, the WW2 1/200.

I bought a copy of the WW2 rules from Stafford games at the Reading show but he's has stopped stocking the WW2 models to concentrate on the WW1 range. Roland is a nice chap to deal with though - I've always found him to be helpful and friendly.

Roland will also give a discount at Shows to anyone who is wearing their U.K. Wings of Glory Polo shirts. Just flash them at him when you are buying.

Hi Mark, welcome to the Drome, glad you found the Reading shows useful and persuaded you to join us.
scales have been answered so that's done.
Places to go for official minis, Stafford as you have found, also take a look at Dom's a Decals, he is very reasonable, IGUK also has some in stock.
If you like kits we have Red Eagle minis, metal and Valom, plastic, some nice models in both ranges.
    Also
Shapeways for plastic 3d printed models, lots of different models take a look In the Official painting sub forum and the Shapways sub forum.

Decals can thoroughly recommend 1/144 Direct on eBay and also take a look at Shed decals, these are the Helmet models decals from the one true scale, try either of these to find, a bit expensive but not when you see how many you get on each sheet.

Anything you need to ask just shout, someone will help out

Cheers everyone, will look forward to the day my game turns up,and to start the beginings of my ww1 german plane collection.
It was just not the recruiting skills of yourself that has drawn me in, it was the game maybe just luck but the red mist was in and i was hooked, but most of all it was yourself and the rest of the lads who welcomed me and many others to try it, your friendly approach makes the game work.
