A little diversion from the regular gaming last night. Lately our group has been playing a lot of WWII and AWI. I ventured into the world of Bolt Action which has consumed most of my hobby time for the past year since ROCKCON last year.
Last night Half the group was test playing another WWII rule set and and I decided to bring along Wings of Glory WWI. Even better yet my 15 yr old daughter came along and had a great time trying to shoot down her dad.
Played a nice 4 on 4 scenario. I planned to GM only, but we were short a player so I joined the allied cause.
The British fly boys were able to narrowly defeat the Huns despite two British planes being destroyed due to the the infamous explosion card. The first one went down and it was that pilots one and only damage.
It came down to my last snipe vs my daughters two pilots. Age and treachery overcame youth and skill/
Look forward to getting this out more often as it had been over a year since I last played. A few weeks ago I was thinking about thinning out my collection. Now I am looking to add the last two sets I missed. Such a good and simple system.
