    Default Manouver size decks

Hi, Im brand new with the hobby and today I just received my copy of "Wings of glory: WW2 rules and accesory pack" and at the same time I bought some airplanes models too.

I found that for the FW 190 D-9, the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX and P51D Mustang the manouver ariplane decks are bigger than the Yakovlev Yak-1 deck, and I do not know if I can use all the airplanes together because the Airplane consoles in the rules box looks for only small cards, that means I can not use airplanes with Big Manouver Decks together with the ones that use Small Manouver decks?

Olso i bought a Mitsubishi A6M2 Reisen Zero (Shindo) and a Junkers Ju.87b-2 Stuka (I/StG3) I will receive them hopefully in a couple of days but I saw that those planes are for Wings of Wars WWII game, can I use those airplanes too with the WOG:WWII game?

Thanks for your help I will really appreciate it.

    Easy, David
Late war planes are just FASTER, thus the cards are bigger
All planes Nexus/Ares are totally compatibile

Thanks for your fast answer acouple of questions more, there are any Airplane consoles for airplanes with bigger decks? EDIT: I just saw that there is a file archive in the top side of the web I will try if there is something like that.

I will receive my last 2 planes soon and I can not find a points system as other miniature games (Flames of War for example) to decide wich planes use or wich specuial abilities use, how we decide with wich planes we should play to balance each side? maybe according total damage resistance, let say for example 50 resistance points each side in total or 60?

    thanks.

There is no special console for the bigger cards as far as I know.
I do not use any point system and no friends of mine use it, just try to play historically correct encounters (flying Spitfires against Zeros is not my cup of tea at all). But there is a thread with point system somewhere out here...

The problem is that since we do not know II WW air planes either hystorical encounters we do not know wich planes are "better" than others, for that reason we are looking for something too "quantify" each airplane.

At the momment the plan is to play something like this 3 vs 3 ( we know this is not historical but we can not spend a lot of money in many miniatures atm):

    p51 mustang D -------------- Focke-Wulf Fw 190
Yakovlev Yak-1 ------vs----- Mitsubishi A6M Zero
    Spitfire Mk.IX -------------- Junkers Ju. 87b-2 Stuka

But we want to play 1 vs 2 and 1 vs 1 too, some one know how we can manage to do that encounters?

    Thanks.

Try here David, you will find the points system Andrea has put together. Don't ask me how it works though, I don't use points either !

If you are three and play 1:2 I suggest giving the singled player some ace abilities or play the other two as rookies to even the chances

thanks for your help, probably the best way to learn is playing with the airplanes and seeing how each one works. thanks again for the tips.

On behalf of the squadrons based here in Dear old Blighty welcome to the Drome David.
Don't worry about a couple of aircraft fighting.
Flights soon broke up in the heat of combat, and you will read many accounts by the great Aces, who went into the attack in three or four squadrons, and within minutes were in an empty sky, with just maybe on friendly aircraft or maybe enemy fighter or bomber in sight.
Your dog fight can be as big or small as you wish.
Or you could take on a fast recon mission against any number of enemy aircraft.
Balanced encounters are just not realistic in air warfare, any more than in land battles. Never mind how many Ace abilities you splash about, the real aces are the practiced pilots who have real skills, honed by playing a lot of games in all situations, at odds, and against different types of enemy.
Just dash in enjoy the game, and remember that you cam always run for home if things turn nasty.
    Fly safe.
