Smile What I do when not playing WoG!

    G'day All!
Thought you might like to see a pic of my other interest. Antique Tractors & Farm Machinery.
Our local Club held a Tractor Trek recently & this is me on my 1964 International A 414 Tractor on one of the Forestry Fire Trails in our area.
Great fun & a good "nosh up" at a BBQ at the end of the Trek.

Mostly like Alastair Plus playing (recently) "Commands & Colors:Ancients" with my buddy or "Letters from Whitechapel" with family

Nice to see you getting some time with your friends Baz.
As you know Eileen and I get outside with our re-enactment groups.
Apart from all the adjuncts to the Gaming world, I read a lot of books, enjoy music, and make furniture as my other main hobbies.
In my spare time I mainly sleep.

Looks like a great time, Barry. It's always nice to get out with friends with common interests.
recently, the wife and I got out to an event with our local SCA group (Medieval re-enactment), which we haven't managed for over a year. It was good to see our friends again.
So what's the oddest vehicle that shows up at one of your gatherings, barry?

    G'day Karl!
The oldest Tractor in our Club is a very early (February built) 1936 Farmall F 12 which I brought back in 1996 & Restored. I sold it on to one of our members a couple of years ago. Sadly because it has Steel Wheels it is not suitable for Treks but it does get to go in Parades & of course Shows & Rallies. Pics below.

    What a great thread......

So when I'm not playing Wings of Glory, or other related hobbies I race Road and Cyclocross bikes at a professional level for Champion Systems, I've taken two national titles here and a whole host of other podium slots and have raced in Europe, Africa and the US.

That is an old one, even by my standards. I see you were polite and put on the rubber rims for the street shows.

    That's not so bad James.
By my age you are regarded as eccentric.
My son James was very interested in your cycling photos. Apart from having a job assembling racing bikes when he was in the 6th form many years ago, he was also a very keen Mountain Biker until a spinal injury put him out of action for good.
He even based his A level Graphics Design project on design of bike parts. That's when we got our airbrush set up.

she thinks I'm an oxymoron, a bit too sporty and cool to be an 'Otaku' Geek that sits for hours painting little plastic aeroplanes and then plays with them.

Really! The bike I am racing cyclocross on is a bike of my own design that was made in very limited numbers, only 8 exists and all of them have put the riders on the podium it didn't go into full fabrication due to the release of disk brake systems being allowed in CX which screwed the whole concept of the bike, but I've also been a test rider for Cannondale, Fuji and a few other top brands as well as helped develop wheels and hubs.

As for Mountain biking, I used to race when I was in 6th form for Second Level sports...... better known as KONA UK, that was back when MTB was first born though... none of this ALL MOUTAIN suspension nonsense . (I guess that's why I race CX so fast).

The bike and all components are TORCAY Carbon fibre and the bike weighs in at a mere 6.9 kg yet can take a pounding by a 78kg rider that rides it like it was stolen!

But it's not all Podiums Champagne and kisses.... a bad day in the office can ruin your year even your career.

These photos still leave me emotional - I was in prime position for the sprint 30 meters away and I'm regarded as one of the top sprinters here in Japan..... 2nd place rider over cooks the corner and hits my wheel from behind spilling us both on to the asphalt at over 50km/h (30+ mp/h). Deep lacerations to the leg and fingers - two of the fingers you could see the bone, 1 week later I was racing again as the team needed the points to stay #1 in the national rankings - still can't bend my little finger on my left hand fully.

I have had many hobbies but am only active in a few currently.
I added links to the other forums I am on in case you might be interested in those hobbies.
You might have to join those forums to see the photos though.

Cool, I love bicycles too although I don't ride much anymore since Bangkok has no road rule enforcement and rolling deathtraps and drunk drivers everywhere.
I currently have a 6kg Dahon Dove and Strida folding bikes, a WTP Zodiac BMX, and a classic 1998 GT Forte road bike but have had a few others that I post about on bikeforums
    http://www.bikeforums.net/search.php?searchid=10173820

Since riding in BKK is like playing Frogger, but I am the frog; I just ride scooters and motorcycles.
I currently have a strange but cool 3 wheeler.

but I got into WoG because I collect 1/200 military diecast planes and some 1/400 diecasts too.

    Hi Tak.
Only just noticed that you had joined us.
Do please pop into the Officers' Club Forum and make yourself known to the rest of the chaps.
You may even get a virtual beer or two out of it.
