As I've commented before, I'm not much of a modeller, so I apologise if this is a bit trivial.
But having had a successful experiment, I wanted to share in case it was of interest to anyone else.
I recently bought a set of Litko flak markers; and like most Litko products it comes with their proprietary stands and pegs.
I wanted to make them compatible with the standard Wings of Glory flight pegs, so I could easily see and set the altitude
(and partly because I wanted them to be like everything else, because I'm a bit wrong in the head like that).
I also wanted to mount them on a circular base that I could use as the marker for flak in the game.
To make flak a little more effective I've chosen a 30mm diameter base; if that makes flak too dangerous, I'll mark a small radius onto the bases.
I used a gold titanium HSS drill bits (which are in my tool box, normally for drilling metal).
They have shallow angle to the bit, and I used them with a lowest speed and torque setting on my portable drill.
I didn't know how robust the plastic was, but I didn't want it to crack.
A quick experiment told me that peg pins are a little smaller than 2.5mm, so, having put a quick 1mm pilot in the right place on the base, I used a 2mm bit to first drill the hole, and then to gently englarge it, by degrees, until the pin was a good fit.
I then expanded the peg hole in the flak smoke using a 5mm bit, which, drilled carefully, still gives a good interference fit.
Finally I used a blue peg (from Battletree Designs, available on Ebay) to mount the flak, to better match the colour of the smoke and bring them up to height with the aircraft.
And here's the result....
