Voilą le soleil d'Austerlitz!
I am completely new to these things, but i decided to get to the third base with Airco DH.2, which i put into a freezer and then demounted into single pieces. Now it is gonna get some Humbrol 103 on wings and i-dont-know-what-yet on the cabin.
Actually just toning the wings with very(!) thin layer of H103, makes it look pretty, as the paint gets mainly into the dents and so and gives it some patina/distressed/weathered look. Also the ugly yellow turns into something you wanna kiss.
Another thing i am gonna finish are the British barrage balloons which i have started with last year but never finisher as i was searching for a right technology and paint to make them look smooth. Now i guess i have it, so let's see what they're gonna come out like.
Well, my Oct went fairly well. I built a bunch of jungle scatter for PTO Bolt Action along with two beach boards. Painted up a few Infinity figures and some 28mm German Infantry. Still more terrain to build and infantry to paint. Shocking to me was that I did not do any Aircraft. My Jasta 12 project will again sit idle for the month. The Samurai pics have me thinking of doing a few of the Kingsford miniatures I have on hand. Some very nice Cavalry Archers that are begging to be painted. I think I'll be playing a few games this month as my daughter has some time off from school, so my tutoring her in minis painting will continue and I'm sure we'll get a game of Infinity in and perhaps some WoG. Good luck to all on your projects, I'm heading over to Shapeways to see if they still have enough plastic to make a plane or two for me
Since I bought a few goodies at Fall In I have to get them done. Not much happening until Thanksgiving so I should spent time building the F-Toys planes I have.
Great to see you have your workbench sorted, but don't overdo things Dave.

Good to see you're well, David.
On my workbench this month there are just a few Fokker Dr.Is and D.VIIs, but I still haven't decided what colours to give them.
There is a Largish Cardboard Box from palladium games in my living room right now....

Two-thirds the way through the month and just now logging in, it's been a busy month! This month's workbench is covered in 1/285 and 1/300 minis with a sprinkling of 1/200 scale.
I just finished some Korean war jets, below. Decals are from Miscellaneous Miniatures, I-94, and Dom. F-80s are 1/300 Scotia, Meteors are 1/300 MSD, and the F-84s and Mig-15s are 1/285 Raiden.
Some 1/200 Armaments in Miniature WIP pictures. Decals are Miscellaneous Miniatures, Dom's, and I-94 again.
Not pictured are 125 1/285-1/300 scale Battle for France and Battle of Britain aircraft minis.
Now, back to the bench, Kevin
Impressive paint schemes there Karl.
Not really my period but I do appreciate your work.
Rob.

Kevin, this is awesome. Have you played any Korean missions in WGS system? Any AARs? I would love to see them! My father would go mad about them
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
Korean War birds looks awesomely good Kevin!! What do you plan with these? Play, display, etc etc...
Thanks
Nick
I have 3 VIP war birds on my workbench - all nearing completion.... .some one will be happy!
Right.
Sorry Karl.
I'm finding the small screen on the Laptop very hard to read, and missed the small print at the bottom.

Thanks all for the kind remarks. Yes, these are all bound for Check Your 6!, Jet Age games. Kevin
Well finally cleared the two Albatros DVa for Keith... I think he likes Ernst Udet....but hey don't we all
I have one more top secret project that is nearing completion but now I can dedicate some time to my growing pile of Wingnut Wing 1/32 scale models, I recently managed against all odds to win an auction for the W.29 and then 1 week later Wingnuts Wing releases its older sister!
Then 1 week after they announce a bloody Felixstowe...... in 1/32 scale thats a wing span of 35" (88.9cm!)
So being a dedicated Wings of Glory Fan I ordered some shapeways models to match!!!!
James the Albatrosses are beautiful, how do you achieve the wood color?
I did a How To here:
http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/sho...-Grain-Effects
I use a 1/32 scale model for the photos but the process is the same, if you go further down the thread I show you how I did it on a 1/144 scale model as well.
There are better photos of the Albatros here:

My pleasure!
I've had my eye on Wingnuts Wings W29 for ages and wish I'd gotten a copy when it came out - I bought the Shapeways 1/144th scale version and am getting it ready to paint and decal. But I really LOVE the Peter Jackson kits - some day I WILL own (and build!!) at least one!
You'll have to post some photos of the W29 as you finish it, James.
All the best,
Matt Materne
Harry, they are stunning aren't they! I actually got in to WnW by accident..... we needed to buy something to get free parking at the shopping mall, I think 2,000 JPY well I ended up with a Sopwith Snipe late addition...... that then spawned my interest again in scale modeling..... two Iwata airbrushes and compressor, complete Tamiya and Vajello paint range and a whole other host of equipment the wife suddenly realises her mistake! She actually bought me 'The Duelist' which contains the Eindecker III and a DH.2
