    Exclamation Cheap Sea Mat; UK

I picked up one of these yesterday, and thought of you guys.

Ideal for low level sea missions.

Maybe even stretch to SoG as well? I will take a photo later, with the Iron Duke on it.
Little people need to be in bed though

I got 1m width, and its 1.2m long. £7.49 in store, but don't know what postage is because I got mine from the store.

Thats looks ideal for naval wargaming. I've got 1/600 Coastal, 1/1200 Napoleonic and 1/3000 WW1&WW2 and use a fairly pale blue cloth from S&A Scenics with them at the moment but I have always been on the lookout for something that is easy to store, a more realistic colour, and a decent price.

I need to get my base darker to match the mat, but I'm pretty chuffed with it as an extra option.
As it's leatherette, it doesn't turn up at the edges too much.

Looks v good Hayden. I would possibly mount it on some 2mm MDF if the edges look like curling.

That looks really good; might have to see if something like it is in the States.

Wow, it's got two shades of blue! We've been using the same thing, it is all in one shade though. This one is superb.

This is what we have. The one you picked is so much nicer though.

54in wide 10 foot long £15. See the Taranto/Sink the Carrier/Kanoehe Bay/Zeppelin Finale games from Doncaster and you'll see the mat. Bought at an indoor market, its a table cloth/mat, vinyl washable too. Great for sea games.

Have a green one for a table protector, edges don't curl, bought son a black one for his X-wing gaming, not seen the blue one though, that looks good..

I suspect mine curls because I've rolled it up, and its not overhanging the table.
It's got a good weight to it, so better than my vinyl mat on that front.

Nothing some consoles or carefully taping down the edges wont fix.
I gently masking tape the edges down on my vinyl mat most of the time.

Can't wait now to get some kites attacking the Iron Duke, as I bought some splash markers ages ago that need to come out to play.

Wow Haydn that is brilliant - I nneded something for my Dystopian Wars as well as the occasional 'Pirates of the whatever...' game.
As I am hoping to expand into SoG at Christmas - will also serve nicely there as well.

I am looking for something to use as a mat with A&A War At Sea. That actually looks pretty nice...

Thanks for the heads up Hayden.
I was getting fed up with ironing out the creases in that cloth of mine.
    I'm off to Dunelm then.

It is a smart idea. I have found a local supplier of similar materials and tomorrow will pay him a visit

If anyone wants one from overseas, I am willing to help.
