    Default Toying with 1/200 3D prints: P-26, P-35, B-10, P-50, P-54, P-56, and Flying Flapjack

I painted my first 3D printed minis this summer. I like the variety of minis available but still have issues with the "slight grainy feel" of the WSF.

I've got over the grainy thing a year or more ago. It's now just another step in the preparation process.
    And...
    Nice paint on those models!

John, I've tried several things to smooth the WSF surface but all are time consuming and yield mediocre results. Do you have a special step/process? Kevin

Krylon Triple Thick Crystal Clear Glaze works quite well. The last thing I painted, my 15mm grav rover turned out quite smooth. And that was only using two or three coats, since I was in a hurry
A variety of techniques have been developed by our co-forumites. Zoe's pva glue technique is quite popular.

Here's another. This one came out quite smooth.

    Give it a try.

    And again, nice models!

Thanks for the tip and the pics. I'll have to give the triple thick glaze a try.

That is a real cracker of a sea plane John.
