Thread: Hello from the Bluegrass State

Default Hello from the Bluegrass State

I've been a fan of X-Wing Miniatures for a while now, but a friend just got one of the WW1 duel packs and we played it last weekend. It seems really great, and since then I keep looking up Wikipedia articles on WW1 aircraft and pilots. I have yet to buy any WoG products, but I am shopping around and trying to decide what to get. It's not a question of me liking the game...it's a matter of figuring out how to get a little extra dough to buy it with.

I have been enjoying browsing this forum, too.

    Welcome from Cape Cod.

We're all to glad to help you get some planes!

Scott from California posted this earlier today...
If anyone is looking to fill in their collection with some significantly reduced priced planes Coolstuff is having a sale. All of the WoG sales can be found on Page 4 WWI (middle bottom of page) and Page 5 WWII (biplanes only)

I just did a search for ARES games on their site. Starting with page 2 you'll find lots of nice planes, especially those at the clearance price!

    Mark,
Welcome from the Northwest... Well, a bit farther than that, but not much. Vancouver Island, Canada.

You aren't far away from the Buckeyes, and there is lots of players there.

If you spring for a Gold Membership, there's a banner for the Louisville Flight in my Banner Album for you: Signature Banner Album.

Hope you enjoy the camaraderie here on the 'drome.

PS: Thanks Darryl [predhead] for the spell check.

On behalf of the pilots based over the pond here in the U.K. welcome to the Drome Mark.
I am sure that you will get more than enough advice on what to buy and where to obtain it as soon as your fellow Americans start their day.

You'll have a great time here, Mark. I'm a newbie myself, and I love the site. I also happen to have the basic set for X-Wing but have yet to play it, and the only extra miniature I've gotten beyond the set is the Millennium Falcon. But I love the miniatures and was excited to find it similar to this game. THESE miniatures are just lovely, and I've purchased WAY more than came in the basic rules set (seeing as the one I got had NO minis in it...

Have fun on the Forum - and get some WW1 planes sooner rather than later!

    All the best,
    Matt Materne

Thanks for the kind welcomes, everyone! I just ordered a Sopwith Snipe and a Fokker D. VII from Cool Stuff Ink. I know...no damage cards, range ruler, or rules come with them, but I will do my best to deal with delayed gratification.
