    Lightbulb Winter over Verdun Trenches

    Winter over Verdun Trenches
    Prague, 12th August 2014
    4 players, 4 planes

    Date of mission: 28th February 1916
    Location: frontline, Verdun, France
    Story: A week after start of German offensive it is necessary to recon whether there are any French observation balloons near frontline. There are not any balloons, but a fighting cover of trenches. Two German Fokkers are attacked by two French Moranes.
    Central Powers Forces: 2x Fokker E.III
    Entente Forces: 2x Morane-Soulnier Type N
    Axis victory conditions: destroy both enemy aircraft
    Allied victory conditions: destroy both enemy aircraft
    Special rules: -
    Result: Entante won - they destroys both enemy Fokkers and get only few hits.
    Balance: 100 %. An easy mission for start of playing session.

    Germans are attacking in the line formation to alone Morane, but one of them has jammed gun and the other one is not in the right possition.

    During escape from the attack the green Fokker is attacked from both Moranes - three B cards and...

    ...and falls to the ground in flames.

    Fighters are approaching the the last Fokker, but it will escape for the last time.

    • Red nose Morane: me (1,5 victories)
    • Black nose Morane: Lukáš (0,5 victory)
    • Green Fokker E.III: Kubajs
    • Canvas Fokker A.III: Michal

    So Jakub (Kubajs) can be shot down! That's more than a relief for my shattered nerves after last two Prague meetings...Ufff.

    Yes, but it is a hard task. For example, during Tuesdays WoG Session he was shot down in Breguet (3x cards for collision during landing).

    Fun game-setup! The ACs are almost identical so it's realy up to the pilots.

    Nope. Kubajs needed rescue a spy and during landing maneuvre he missed the airfield. But problem was in setup of mission: Breguet and airfield ware not in angle n*60°...

    I had to check them once a chance occurs. I do not have them in my collection. Maybe next Con?

    Láďa has 2x Gilbert's and 1x Chaput's Morane (no Navarre's!), so deliberation about it quickly.
    Of course, if you want, I can buy something for you and keep it till the Con (Láďa's WoG store).

    You can always put RFC roundels on them Daniel - I did !
    Great battle, the Moranes worked well together and got the job done.
