Default Hello fellow dogfight fanatics, my name is Todd.

I live in metro detroit area.

I just purchassed my first mini fokker DR1, and came here to learn.
Could anyone direct me to the best information for choosing first planes beyond the starter boxes, and other beginer advice?

    Welcome from California, Todd!

Which miniature have you purchased so far? That would help us figure out what to recommend you look into getting next.

Hi Todd! Welcome to the Drome, from Middlesex in the U.K.

As posted above, try to match future purchases with the plane(s) you have already - alternatively, grab all the planes you can!

Welcome Todd!! Grab some more planes and a RAP (Rule and acessories pack). This should make you more than happy!

Welcome to the Aerodrome, Todd, from here near Norwich in the United Kingdom. Have a look in the Aerodrome Store (link at the top of the page). It will give you some idea about what is currently available.

welcome to the drome todd!!! used to live up in grand rapids myself awhile ago.

the short answer is any you can get your hands on! seriously they all have their place and add their own unique spin to the game, especially as you explore the different phases of the airwar. id definitely recommend getting some 2 seaters as they really add to the fun factor of the game. id MOST especially recommend getting some bombers as theyve recently been reprinted after, for the most part, being unavailable for awhile. judging by past sales theyre all too likely to sell out and become unavailable again.

    Greetings Todd, from Akron Ohio.
If you're at loose ends this weekend, and don't mind a bit of a drive, a number of us will be demoing the game at the Air Force Museum in Dayton for their Dawn Patrol event.

    Hi Todd,

    Welcome from Toronto, Canada!

When I started my WGF collection I picked up the Duel Packs first to try out the system. Once I had a chance to examine the rules, components, minis, etc I decided to buy the Rules & Accessories Pack next.

To be honest I haven't needed anything from the RAP so far as the games that I play can be covered by the Duel Pack components. I am also only using the Basic and Standard Rules so far.

One thing that I did get fairly quickly were the Richard Bradley Solo Rules and the Aerodrome Solo Play Template to help me learn the game quicker.

    Hope this helps.

The duel packs are the best way to get started. After that just do what everyone else does...BUY EVERYTHING!

    Todd, welcome to the Aerodrome.

To make play easier, download the WGF Reference Cards from the files.

That is awesome! This may sound strange, but my dream is to have all the plane cards instead of the minis. But why not both?

Hi Todd and welcome. I am from the "Buy everything you can" school. But one thing you may consider is what era of the war you are interested in. That can be helpful in making your choices. Are you interested in the entire air conflict, the early years, the late years... There are some great references that can tell you what is available historically for the years you may be interested in. And yes, 2 seaters and bombers are fun! Anyway, hope you enjoy your time here and the game.

You have my understanding and sympathy, as I usually work Saturdays too.
If nothing sooner, there's BashCon at Toledo U in February.

I will try the solo games, I use the old WOW rule book so I need to find the solo info you have online.

Welcome to the 'drome, Todd. I think you are going to find out soon that you will need all of them. And then there aren't enough, so you might even start repainting. Its an endless cycle.
