    Default First Flight

So, my first sortie with WGS did not go according to plan.

Leutnant Wunder of JG. 26 took off from his airfield in his FW-190 for a routine maintenance flight in the late afternoon. The sun was just beginning to set and the young leutnant was rushing to get home. He failed to notice the 2 American P-51's closing at an alarming rate.

One of the Americans made a head on pass, the young pilots plane was riddled with holes before he knew what was happening. He tried making some evasive maneuvers and managed to fire a few rounds into his crazy American opponent. Then the second American opened fire from directly behind. There was nothing the young pilot could do His plane was no longer responding to his controls. He slid the canopy back and jumped from his stricken aircraft. His parachute opened without incident as he watched the American fly off and his aircraft tumble towards the ground.

Fortunately he landed without incident in the middle of an infantry unit and he was taken back to his base and the rage of his commanding officer.

The wife and boy had a good time beating up on me all weekend. We only played one round of WGS to give it a try. Things obviously did not go well. I was blown out of the sky by my wife rather quickly after my sons devastating head on pass. The new mechanics are taking some time to work out but I'm reserving judgement until a few more games are played. We also played 2 rounds of WGF which again ended with me going down in flames. I'll add those to the WGF AAR's. The damage gods were not with me this weekend to say the least. The new game mats are amazing though. The entire family loved them

Tommy, you are still a winner!

What could be better than flying with your family in a friendly WGS game.

Great! As Kenji said, you are a winner. Nothing better than play with the family.

It is always good policy to be shot down by your wife Tommy.
Gives you an excuse to buy replacement aircraft.

Did you say friendly? If that was friendly I can't wait to see a real grudge match!

Well played and another succumbs to the wife/son or daughter tag team. As good as we are, or like to think we are, a bullet is still a bullet and fate has no excuses for foolhardy bravery. My hat off to you for your brave, if foolhardy, endeavour.

Rob is correct. There is a time for losing, always against the wife. It keeps the gaming budget on the increase! It`s not the winning or losing but all about the fun!

Now that Mrs K. is active on the Drome, I think I may come to regret broadcasting that advice chaps.

You have forgotten the first law of security! Loose lips sink ships, or air ships as the in this case!
