Thread: What aircraft should be in series nine?

  1. #1

Default What aircraft should be in series nine?

    I'm kinda torn.

Nieuport 11 would be a nice addition to the French to bridge the gap between the MN type N and the N17 also used by most allies Confirmed.
    2 French and 1 Italian.

Sopwith Strutter an important aircraft for both the Brits and French Confirmed
    Sopwith Pup always loved them
Sopwith Dolphin another late war aircraft
Spad 11/16 is it time for the French to be included in the 2 seater love fest
Nieuport 27 RFC got 71 in Aug 1917, Italians got 100, a French alternative to the Spad VII.

Fokker D.II an early war match for the N11
Pfalz D.XII large number production late war aircraft
Hansa-Brandenburg D.I an A-H aircraft bridging the gap between the E.III and Albatros D.II/III
Phonix D.I a late war aircraft for A-H confirmed

    also An Albatros C.III confirmed

    What do you want?

    Nieuport 11 certainly.

I can't decide for the rest... Maybe Spad, Hansa and Phoenix?

Would be nice to have some early wars aicrafts again. I like your way of thinking - some new french stuff and more minis for A-H - very clever with Italian boatplanes from series 8th.

A Handley Page bomber would be too big for series 9. I believe that one is already proposed somewhere down the line.

Yes, we must have the Fe2b and the Sopwith Pup. What about at least one Hansa-Brqandenberg seaplane or floatplane and a Voisin?

Some very early planes would be nice. What about Bleriot and Taube?

Or I'd like to see more planes for italian front - Pomilio PC vs. Phönix.

    Red face

Personally I'm happy with just about anything that comes BUT I would like something that makes any purchase of planes on my credit card statement say something like "Household essentials" or similar. It would save me from a lot of grief with the missus!!

The Italian Front (IF) was number one for me for a long time. I'm working on Bloody April (BA) now. The availability of models for BA far exceeds what is available for the IF. The Italians getting a it's own two seater would be great as well as the AH getting another fighter.

Italian 2-seater (Pomilio P-series?), A-H floatplane/flying-boat (Lohner L or one of the Hansa-Brandenburgs), A-H fighter... what Entente fighter to complete? (Basically, this would directly counter-balance Series 8 with its pair of Munchkin Fighters, Italian seaplane and CP two-seater.)

I hoping for some news soon. I going to buy some more shapeways in DEC. I rather have Ares models.
Are they going to release series 3 repaints (N17s and Alb D.III's) in 2015.

pfalz DXII and sopwith dolphin to fill obvious holes.

Believe the 0/400 is in the pipeline, isn't it ? - the V/1500 wasn't used so shouldn't be considered.

I must have missed a release, I need all the Se5'! And I do mean all of them.

The reprints will roll on so we will get series 3 & 4 eventually, there is certainly mileage in new releases of 'early war' , 'late war' and maybe a specialist sea/float plane set ?

    early war: Strutters/pups/BE2/FE2/N.11/Bristol fighter/ C class Albatros,Rumpler,Aviatik,DFW/selection of early D types, Fok,SS,Rol/

    late war: Sopwith Dolphin/N.27/RFC Spad XIII (w/ounded wings)/Spad XII/Pfalz D.XII/Roland D.VIb/SSD.IV/JuD.I

Not even getting into AH/Italian fronts & float planes I think it's safe to say that there is no lack of options for the future !

I'd like Sopwith Dolphin/N.27/Pfalz D.XII/Roland D.VIb for next late set though and pups/strutter/DFW/Roland D.II for early

I was thinking about the c class Hun machines, they'd be lovely, but your not really going to field more than 1 that often.

Ni11 is in the next series. de Turenne is included, but for the Italians we will rather put our golden medal Giannino Ancillotto since ut features Le Prieur rockets. He got his medal flying across an exploding balloon je got so near to be sure to destroy it, and flew back home with stripes of yellow balloon canvas hanging to his wings.

So we know one plane and two pilots.
Three planes and 10 pilots to go!!!!!

N11 = Cool, means I won't have to sub my 17's in anymore.

The rocket thing makes me fear they are reusing the Balloon Buster molds. The N.16 is basically identical to the N.11. I can't see how they wouldn't do a new sculpt though to go with the other planes in the series. Not a fan of rockets on planes in my dogfights, I would have rather they left the rockets to the special box planes. Ancillotto's scheme is as plain and boring as possible, anyway.

To be fair, at the very least it should have a tri-color cowling, as well as under the wings, just cause it's Italian. Right there that's more exciting than many of the British aircraft we've had.

Giovanni "Giannino" Ancillotto – began flying the SPAD VII but preferred the Nieuport 11 for balloon busting due to the aircraft was able to carry rockets.

Yeah, I shouldn't have said boring! I'm always happy to get an Italian plane. But my personal taste these days is for as distinct, as colorful schemes as possible, and there are some really bright and unique schemes for the N.11. I have to remember that Ares is, and has always been, more focused on selecting suitable pilots rather than the just the most attractive paintschemes.
