Default From Ohio and new to the forum

    Hello, all!

It's great to be a part of this forum. I've been a fan of WWI aircraft ever since my dad built 1/48 scale Aurora models in the early 60s, and I've been interested in the game's lovely WWI aircraft for years now and just never picked any up. A couple of weeks ago, two of my friends and I decide to "take the plunge" and get into the game. We just played for the first time last weekend, and we're hooked!

I'm excited to get to know the layout of the forum and see what all is here at my fingertips. Thanks for letting me join.

    All the best,
    Harry Materne

On behalf of the rest of the pilots based here over the pond in Dear old Blighty, welcome to the Drome Harry. You could not be based in a better place for Wings of Glory, right in the thick of it.

Thanks for all the kind words and warm welcomes! I had noticed when I was registering for the Forum that there seemed to be a large Ohio contingent. Bodes well for gaming possibilities! Finding time to make that happen will be the key now - as a high school teacher, now that school has begun again, making time to fly will be the real chore for me. But I'm sure I'll be able to manage some.

I look forward to stumbling around the Forum and discovering all it has to offer.
    Always the best,
    Harry

    Thanks for the info, chaps!

Karl - the two fellows who've started playing Wings of Glory with me (i.e. we've all just started playing) and I are revved up about the Dawn Patrol Fly-In at the Museum, and we're really looking forward to seeing all it has to offer. We'll definitely look you up! Do you know yet where you'll be setting up to demonstrate the game? Will you be doing it all day long or just during certain times?

    All the best,
    Harry

CappyTom has the details. We'll be in a tent out in the vendor/display area. You should find us with no problem.
    See you there.

Harry - welcome from yet another Buckeye. Look forward to meeting you at the Dawn Patrol in late September...though I believe Dayton is a bit more than just down the street from Akron. We will be running demos all day from Friday through Sunday weather permitting.

Welcome! What part of Ohio are you from? We have a group that gets together occasionally in the Ashland / Mansfield area. We have a Facebook group, too, although it hasn't been terribly active lately. https://www.facebook.com/groups/CanvasFalcons/

    Hi, John!

I live in Springboro, which is about 20 minutes south on I-75 from Dayton. Ashland/Mansfield is about 2 1/2 hours north of me on I-71 - we pass it on our way up to my in-laws who live in Richfield. I've contacted the SW Ohio group who games close by at The Hobby Shop in Miamisburg and look forward to getting together with them in the future. But after reading the Origins reports about recent events, it looks like I may have to plan on attending Origins again in the future!

    All the best,
    Harry

As a high school teacher, Karl, my students would tell you I know ALL about talking! But seriously, what's not fun to talk about when it comes to WWI aircraft? I look forward to running into you and the others again in the future. Now I just have to purchase some more airplanes! And I think Shapeways is whispering its name in my ear as I sleep...

    All the best,
