    Default Greetings from Pennsylvania!

    Hello all,

I've been lurking here for a few weeks deciding on whether to pull the trigger on a copy of Wings of Glory. Long story short......I did lol. So far I've played just one mission. I'm also a rookie gamer in Star Wars: W-Wing Miniatures. Both games are fantastic. I can't wait to collect more planes, and ships for both games.

Anyway, I purchased the dual pack with the Albatros Dva, and the Spad XIII. Also bought my dad for his birthday a Dual pack with the Fokker Dr1 and the Sopwith Camel. Now I just need to get some friends hooked on the game to start having a few game nights lol.

Welcome, Matthew. Now all you need to do is to add Sails of Glory, and you will have all fronts covered.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'm looking forward to checking out all the resources available for the game. Especially the 3rd party aircraft for sale at Shapeways. Some of my favorite WW1 aircraft are available there!

Matthew, I don't know if you have found this yet but here is a complete list of Shapeways WW1 planes.

Thats a great link thanks. I've been looking through Shapeways for both WoG and Xwing, but I hadn't found a 4 pack of Sopwith Triplanes. Are there any suggestions of particular models? I know the different models should use particular movement decks.

Depends what you want to have in your hangar. If you think about Sh... products, which are quite nice after all, I would choose types that are not officially distributed by now: D.IIIs or Nieuport 17s, which are very universal planes. You can not go wrong with these.

The N17 has definitely caught my eye. But the one that has my attention most of all is the Etrich Taube reconnaissance aircraft. I love how the aircraft is pretty much the earliest iteration of a "stealth" aircraft. Plus at less than $5 per plane, the price is right lol. Do the Shapeways models have the little tab on the bottom to attach to the bases?

Some of them have. But no matter. You can always attach a magnet ball to it's fuse available thru Aerodrome Accesories store. Easy.

    Thumbs up

G'day Matthew & welcome to the 'drome on behalf of the pilots who fly in NSW down in Australia.

I can recommend the Shapeways Aircraft as I have a big selection.
However it is important to prepare the surface of the WSF models & you will find a number of articles in the Hobby Section/Shapeways section of a number of these options.

Enjoy the game & look forward to hearing of your progress!
