Finished two armies (French and British) in 15mm for "Black Powder" 7YW rules. It's only taken me 15 years to paint all the figure and 1 month to base.
Finished two armies (French and British) in 15mm for "Black Powder" 7YW rules. It's only taken me 15 years to paint all the figure and 1 month to base.
Working on 28mm British for Muskets & Tomahawks, plus about 25 planes for both wars. Also 1/72 WW1 all major combatants for To The Last Man skirmish rules
I have dusted off a 20 year old project myself, 6mm early war WW1 German and French. OK they are really ROS Franco-Prussian, they look the part.
Rich
Cough, cough... You shouldn't mention such things as 6mm... Napoleonics... for example
You mean like my 85% done Waterloo English 6mm Army. Or my 20 various Ancient 6mm DBA armies. Let`s not even talk about the English Civil war Armies i started 25 years ago. Still mounted on the painting sticks but never painted!
Rich
Something like that, only that I have French, Russians and Austrians
While I have been working on 'Nelly'
I've also had a side project going on during the down time of waiting for bond to set or paint to dry. It required a lot of drying time as I did the wood grain effect in exactly the same way as the 1/32 Sopwith Snipe. So there you are a 1/144 scale Albatros with wood grain paneling, each panels grain going against that of the ones either side of it.
She will probably get a lozenge camo on the wings and the rudder (half wood and half Camo) and tail plane with 'From Factory' markings.
Can't wait to see this one finished!
Nor me neither, Guv! (or words to that effect!)
James, I'm speechless... Great work! Rep points on the way
James you are certainly taking these aircraft of yours to a higher level.

Many thanks Rob,
she's finally off the workbench and ready for action..... just wish I had a club or regular to go up against
I made some small modification to this model, the radiator pipe of the original does not go through the upper wing, so I cut it off drilled a hole and fed my own brass rod through and down to the engine. The lozenge camo is from the Fokker DV.II and so having cut it all to shape lined up the pattern so it was a match... .the Albatros has a longer wingspan.
The rigging was done using the Japanese version of EZ line and I absolutely love this stuff!
More amazing work James!
Outstanding work on those. Thanks for posting the pictures.
Stunning, James!!
James,
A superb job on a superb model, well done.
Can you give more details on the Japanese version of EZ line? Is it round or like EZ line flat (rectangular really) in cross section? I assume it's very stretchy and available in different thicknesses (what did you use?).
Very artistic work there James. Always a pleasure to view your models.
The question now is......whats next?
James
That is an amazing build! Well done!
Rich

Bob
That is a respectable list. I can`t seem to get my head out of the mud this month!
Rich
My head is still in the Mud! Two projects in one. My first batch of Kallistra 10mm WW1. Though they are nice 10mm they are not 12-13mm is more the size. I also finished some terrain boards i started years ago for 5mm gaming.
Rich
Superb figurines there, Richard. What is the name of the game?

They are still coming up with a set rules! Those are 1914 British i painted.
Rich
James, once again you amaze me. Great work! Sorry I can't give REP for this one...yet.
I haven't finished my Star Trek 15s yet, but I realized I needed a few Andorians, Vulcans, etc.
This redshirt met with a most untimely death.
Only to be resurrected as an Andorian.
So now I have the initial group, plus these waiting in the wings.
On the WWI front, I bought some decals for my Staaken, but haven't made any move towards painting it.
John and Rich,
Both are great and I know I will see some of them this weekend.
Rich I was working on a China game but have other ideas in mind that use early Japanese planes. So will chat this weekend.
Fantastic, Bob! Thanks for dragging me to Pacific Theater! (Lilly bombers are on the way from AIM ) Are they 1/144?
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
Perfect, Bob! Beautiful planes.
Nice work all. Thanks for sharing.
Nice paintwork, and a refreshing change of types for me as an Western theater player Bob.

Very beautiful late 30's jap planes! A+ for wandering off the beaten path!
Thanks guys for the comments but those are F-Toy 1/144. They are pre painted, put them together and decals. That is the main reason I like them. Only had a few until I met Rich who has an awesome collection of 1/144 planes.
