Yep, that's right. Some boxes say it is 1/240, some that it is 1/200. BY Zoe's reckoning it is 1/200. See here for more discussion

Rich, I said in another thread that one or two pootling about the table isn't exactly Big Week, and not much of a challenge to the Luftwaffe

I told myself B-17`s and Six B-24`s would the end of it. I discovered another B-24 kit, it was part of my B-29 buying program. Six for the price of one! i Built two the six and gave one to Bob! Need an old Crown/ Minicraft 144 scale B-24-j?

This month I'm looking to finish six medieval naval ships, a couple of SCW armoured cars a dozen or so 1/600 WW1 lake steamer gunboats and other small craft, and some 15mm sci fi stuff.

Finished 3 SE5 Valom kits, and 1 waiting for US roundels and finishing paint. Did 2 more Albatros DIII for my Jasta 12 project, with another in prep stages. Prepped and base coated a Shapeways DrI for Rabens Jasta 7 bird. Prepped and base coated a Shapeways Pfalz DIII for a yet undetermined paint scheme, but it will most likely end up in the livery of Werner Hertels Jasta 40 bird. With 4 Alb DVa on the way for Jasta 12, and 3 more DrI in hand for Jasta 12 pilots I think I will be busy for a bit. All that and I'm teaching my daughter how to paint using Infinity Sci-fi figures, and have a couple more I'm working on for her army. Also a bunch of Ashigaru for a Samurai skirmish project nearing completion. Will try to get pics of the finished birds up sometime. Good luck with your projects everyone.

My challange for September will be to make a Zepp Template to use in this months Early Doors WW1 campaign.

Well working on F-Toys 1/144 stuff. So far 1 Nell/2 Nate's/2 Ann's/1 Claude. Working on my Japanese China area planes. Have to get a picture when I get a few more-- Claude/Ann/Nate--done. Also 2 Buffalo's and 3 I-16's finished. I hope that Rich S. will run a game at the Williamsburg Muster for this time frame. (HINT)

Not much for September. Kids back at school and university.
Not enough time for hobbies. Nothing on the shapeways finishing front. Still have many Aircraft in various stages of completion.
Did manage to finish decaling a pair of Raiden F-86 Sabres for use with CY6 Jet Age.
Still working on a 15mm TYW Imperial Army for DBA-RRR. Taken me nearly as long to paint as the war.
Hopfully things can slow down a bit and I can get back to a little painting and gaming.

I need to finish off an entire Wild West town in 28mm, plus a heap of outlaws, lawmen & townsfolk to fill it!
Foolishly agreed to run a "Dead Man's Hand" game at my local club just after the Donnie meet.
    Wish me luck!

Certainly do wish you luck Tim, as I survey the best part of a Lancastrian army painted white and languishing in its trays with only one and a half Household units completed in the last three years.

3 Bf 109F trop, 4 Spitfires V trop, 4 MC 200 Saettas, 2 Fokkers D.VIII are being decaled and varnished. And one very special repaint completed and decaled. Hot sunny weather is over, so the works are speeded up

Need to get some early Nieuport 16's painted up in British colours for the OTT Early Doors campaign though as well as a bit of work for uncle that we can't talk about.

So poor 'Nelly' might have to go on the back burner for a little while.

That could not be easier. In traditional fashion, you paint the town red. The villains in black and the good guys in white. Three cans of spray paint will do it! Seriously somewhere around here i have old Airfix cowboys that go back to 1975, Boot Hill was the rage then!

I committed elf-napping. I just hope some one does not notice their work slacking off.

This month finished Jasta 25 4xHalberstadts need some Roland D.II's to round them out. 3 RU Spad 7's. 4 DH-2s repaints for 24 squadron for a total of 6. Finished 3 more S7's for the 23 sqn for a total of 6. 3 RU M-S Ns and one for the UK. 2 Biffs repaints. 2 Belguim S7s.

On the bench 3 A-H seaplanes.
    IT have two N27's.
    FR have 2 N11's.
I ran out of Russian decals so there will be a stoppage on the them.
    GE 2 Alb D.IIIs and 5 Alb D.IIs for Jasta 2 and 11.

BTW did you know that elfs like Thai food. Who would have figured.

So finally got some pics. The Valom SE5 kits are really nice, though my modeling skills don't do them justice. I used the Lewis guns from Shapeways instead of the photo-etched parts in the kit. I think they came out okay, especially for gaming pieces. Then did 3 Shapeways Alb DIII' for my Jasta 12 project. Got some Alb DV' to finish the project. Will be adding a few Dr1' for Jasta 12 maybe this month. Here's the photos.Click image for larger version.

On a scale from 1-10 how easy were they to assemble? I like to get some Pups because the decals that are included.

I'm in the middle of my first Pup John, and finding the Struts and U-cart quite tricky to do.

Lovely work on those planes William!

I haven't started any Valom SE5a, Albatros DVa, Sopwith Pup or Nieuport 17 kits yet - I'm still building Fokker DVIIs!
The DVII kits go together very well; as the WingCo said, it's the struts and undercart which are the trickiest parts.
The DVII seems the easiest to me, since the interplane struts are 'N'-struts - these alone are strong enough to hold the top wing in place while the glue dries at the four insertion points, and the moulded angle of the 'N'-struts positions the top wing at the correct stagger.

For my Valom Pups I intend to buy a single Shapeways one, and use it to make a wing jig - this will allow me to set the correct wing stagger on the Valom Pups when I finally get around to building them!

Thanks all for your kind comments. I had the most problems with the undercarriage. Getting them lined up right was a pain. I glued the parts to the underside of the plane first, then the wheel assembly to the parts. Looking back on it I think it would have gone a little better if I had glued the wheel struts to the wheel wing first, then to the plane. I like building the kits, and they do fill some important holes. The kits aren't very hard to do. I think it was FarEast(James) that gave a very valuable tip when doing the wing struts. If you cut the pe struts leaving the little(tiny) tab at each end, then drill small holes in the wings to accept the tab, it is a little easier to assemble. I have found that doing one entire kit first, instead of multiple kits at once, you can get tips from the first to apply to the remaining kits. Good idea on the shapeways craft Tim. Would be interested to know how helpful that is. Of the two I've built(N17 and SE5) the SE5 was the more difficult, but still not bad.

Thanks Eric. The camo is decal sheets from 1/144 Direct on ebay. They are pretty easy to apply and look great. I did the underside also, and the finish is really nice, if I do say so myself.

Rob, that is the main reason I bought the kits and not shapeways. The decals are very nice. I don't have the DVII kit but understand they include the lozenge camo for the wings. And on a 1-10 scale I'd guess the Nieuport kit at around 6 and the SE5 around 7-7.5. Just my opinion though. I'm sure younger eyes would be helpful and more steady hands, old man shakes really make it hard at times.

OK, now let's see what a humble and poor painter like me did in September. Nothing to be proud of, considering works above, truly.
These are just two pics - examples, more you will find in Hobby section/painting showcase: D.VIII and Bf 109.

A patrol of "Blood and Emerald Wolves Jasta" (fantasy) (Shapeways).

And historical JG 53 Bf 109F/G (Shapeways).
