Default World War I Dawn Patrol Rendezvous

If you are any where near the National Museum of the Air Force Sept 27-28 you can't miss this event. They only hold it every two years. It is great seeing the reproduction WWI aircraft flying. Afterwards you can go in the museum and see the amazing collection of WWI planes including a Caproni bomber and a observation balloon. Here is their link http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/wwi.asp

Hi all. Long time, no "see". Just a reminder that the Dawn Patrol is coming up this weekend. I'm trying to go, so maybe I'll see some of you there.

I was great to meet a bunch of guys from the Buckeye Chapter at the Dawn Patrol Rendezvous today at Wright Patt - in addition to loads of "full scale" models flying, it was lovely to see (and drool over) all of the 1/144 scale stuff the chaps had. I look forward to getting better acquainted with Karl and Ken and Cappy Tom and Redcoon2 as time goes on (as well as those others whose names escape me at the moment) - thanks for your hospitality and time to talk Wings of War/Glory.

Have safe "flights" home after the day tomorrow, fellas!
    Always the best,
    Harry (Matt) Materne

I too had a fantastic time at the Dawn Patrol Rendezvous. Attended most of yesterday and a couple of hours today. Got a bit sunburned, though.

It was great meeting you and gaming with you, Phillip! Nice photos!

Good meeting you too. The event was great, and the weather perfect. Our part went off like a dream, and we might get some new mates here soon.
I'll have my pics posted sometime soon.

Nice putting a face to a name, Karl! Hope you got all your passengers home safe and sound - you had a bit of a road to travel to get back home! Looking forward to playing together next time we meet.

Apropos liking to talk, Karl - talking to you all at Wright-Patt this past weekend, I learned that Game Haven had Wings of Glory planes in stock, so I stopped by after school today and picked up a Wings of War DH4 - a pleasant surprise! Then I happened to see those European card sleeves you guys were using to protect the WoG cards, so I grabbed several packs of those. It was nice to "learn" new things from old masters...

    All the best,
    Harry (Matt) Materne

They were under $3 for a packet of 50 - I thought that was a decent price and picked up four packs. I figured I'd start with putting my damage decks into them and then see what's left for other often-used cards. I imagine I'll succumb and eventually have most cards in sleeves...

Hope you can get back there to get some, Phillip.

    All the best,
