I would not have expected to find this in a Textiles shop in Dorchester which Manufactures Looms and Spinning wheels.

Excellent find. Esp. since these STILL haven't reached the States yet
In a similar vein, I found several 1/72nd scale aircraft models at a whole sale leather shop in Cleveland many many years ago.
I was buying for M&M at the time.

One day, while getting back from a trip, we stopped in a famous restaurant by the road. Its normal to find strange things in that restaurants, but i find something like 30 1/200 plane, mostly WWII. I was amazed, but as I didn't know the game, i didn't buy any. Now every time we stop there i put that place upside down but dont find anything.
    Thanks

This did not happen to me but one of our games club members found a complete set of Rourkes Drift Box set with the buildings already built in a Salvation Army Op Shop for $10 Aus.

Now that was a great find!

A lot of the craft stores in my area usually have a small section with plastic models and the like. They are small sections, but I wouldn't be too surprised to find a model plane there. Maybe not a biplane, but some of the modern ones.

Nice find Rob - and no, never been that lucky (although my wife and girls' obsession with Hobbycraft allow me excuses for buying paints / storage for figures etc. )

Hobbycraft in Nottingham seem to be resolutely running down the boys' toys section. All Games Workshop paints have gone, as well as Revel kits. Only Airfix and some of the modelling tools remain.
