oddly, there haven't been many blimps flying around Akron this year; usually 2-3 times a week there's one or two about.

Could be a cheaper way to travel if not in a hurry and you could see the countryside better.
I'd just like to remind everyone: In three years of constant operation, the Germans lost 1/3 of their zeps to poor weather alone; try running that loss rate in today's litigious environment. (If one splits the 1/3 lost to combat reasons between "survived" and "lost to weather", that's *1/2* lost every three years; but 1/3 is bad enough.)
Airships will never be anything but toys for those lots of spare cash.
