Default Pour me a set of Spitfire pontoonz plez!

So a pair of Spitfire recruits flew in from the Shapeways squadron . . .

A set of pontoons carved and linked with the center strut . . .

Models will next be modified with wider rudders, sub-fins, and four bladed props . . .

And we are ready to pour these guys too!

    Another fine conversion Dave.
What gets me is how do you just happen to have a couple of spare Spits stooging around?

Shapeways my good man. I invested in a dozen of them a while ago when I entered this dark realm . . .

If you are going to use a sea mat, this might come in handy:

Amazing job David! The Spitfire seems prettiest this way... And this Wild Catfish isn't a bad idea! Go on (please).
    Thanks

Both aircraft and card are superb.
I took a copy of the card just in case Mike. Well you just never know do you!

Grab a better copy, Rob. The old stats box was peaking out from underneath the new version.

A number of floatplane versions of fighters were planned on the assumption that they would be needed at forward bases without facilities for conventional aircraft.
The Pacific theater was the main consideration, though the Med, as shown above, was considered a possibility.
Thanks to the engineering technology and resources of the Allies, particularly the USA, these proved un-needed, and so not developed.
The Japanese used 2 seaplane bases to support their October attacks on Guadalcanal with bravery and daring, though ultimate failure.
