European Theater custom playmat

Greetings friends,

I have started my European theater playmat. I'm going to use the same criteria that I have used for Pacific ones.

I have reserved the central part of the playmat for a land battle, that could be used as ground target for goth sides.

Further to it each side has its own targets.

Its looking good Jose! Although, maybe if the mat was a little darker, it would be more similar to the European front (in my opinion). Anyway, its wonderful.

I've tried it.

I have make darker the countryside layer, but I have some problems with other layers (buildings, roads. rivers....), so I can't do it.

I'm using some images from files section too, for example german soldiers. Although they are so small and I couldn't be visible, anybody have US soldiers to place them at allies side?

Better Jose! You make great mats! Although, i can see just one problem in this mat: the trees. They seem a little "out" of the mat. Can you see this too. Maybe im getting crazy or something...

So you don't like these trees...

I don't like trees from M'44 tiles so I have look for them in other web pages. As you say they have a different texture... they aren't a drawing and it looks like a photo. Perhaps this is the reason. I'll try to look for other trees to solve it.

I have to change the ship to place other high resolution ones, I have to add US soldiers and after that clouds, logos, and points and arc of fires.

Greetings,

Unfortunately I have come back to home and started to work. I have passed a very nice days with my family.

I have worked in the playmat.

I have added 2 size trees and plants, US soldiers, a new ship, and other minor changes.

I have to add clouds, points and arc of fires.

Have you any suggestion before I finish it?

There aren't much arcs of fire because many target are mobile like tanks or infantry so they can fire in any direction.

In the meantime I will attempt a patchwork of A3 pages to get it on my table!

Great mat Jose. Some of terrain looks like Mem 44 tiles that you incorporated into your mat. Good job.

In fact almost all terrain has been "extracted" and modified from M'44 tiles.... aerodrome, buildings, bunkers....
