Hope our British friends will get some good photos.
I think this is the first time since at least the Falklands that two British heavy bombers have flown together....
I would like to see them both flying together.
Currently parked at Biggin Hill in Kent and flying at "Airbourne" over Eastbourne this weekend
Saw the newsreel last night.
Hope to get to see them when they fly up here, but things are a bit hectic at the moment.

Two Lancasters! Very soon there will be two Lancasters flying over my table... One dreams with what one can dream with...
Must make a new trip to the UK...
You should be able to see "Airbourne" here (live at 13.30 Lancs due at 15.00) and on You Tube - Thursdays you tube is here

Well that's it then. I just mortgaged my children's inheritance by ordering two Lancs from the Aerodrome Store.
What the heck I'm going to do with them glory only knows.

Thanks, my friend. And yes, you'll know sooner or later what to do with your Lancasters.
Bob
That is a great find! They look great together!
Rich
I can confirm that they also sound good together !!
Just got back from the Downs overlooking Eastbourne watching the Lancs and a pair of Spits doing their thing over Eastbourne - pics will follow (SWMBO photographer) - the sound of 10 Merlin engines is fawesome even though we were quite a distance away !
And having the odd members of the BoBMF & Red Arrows buzzing directly overhead at a couple of hundred feet is also pretty fawesome !!
Thanks, Dave! Awesome photos.
The first Lancasters of Summer.
Well spotted Dave.
Great pictures.

Rats, missed Eastbourne again! That said the Portuguese mountains are proving to be very restful and brneficial to one's health
Ive seen that Beachy Head is a great place to watch from as the aircraft come in quitd close on their approach and run out (its where that awesome youtube video of the Vulcan flying past the lighthouse was taken). Would you recommend it as a plade to head for if I make it down fof next year?
Alas not this time Joaquim, we are up in the Gois valley for the duration, and then heading north. However I am in Lisbon on September 2nd.....
PM me then, so that we can have a drink.
Will do
Yep, there is ample parking made available in the summer a short walk from the cliffs, I didn't get there, was at Warren Hill just behind the town, but the Lancs were turning right by the grass car park on the cliff top and from where we were it looked like they were a wingspan above the parked cars so about 4-500 ft high.
Set up at the opposite end of the beach today & senior management got some great pics of the BBMF and other pretties - will post anon.

The crowds almost double when these boys turn up !
And here are some close ups - in the originals you can see the pilots !
And the escorts !
Typhoon - took the prize for volume !
Vampire - performed a real nimble display
Dakota
RAF Search And Rescue
Just some of the action we caught - good day out if you can get here - anyone near Bournemouth at the end of the month can see it all there !

Thanks Flash! Really cool photos. You better half is an excellent photographer.
Cool pictures, Dave!
It seems you were blessed with very fair weather, just perfect for plane spotting.
I'm surprised the Vampire didn't win the Loud Award -- as I remember them, they produced a real skull-splitter engine-note.
Dave
What great photos! She is a keeper!

Excellent pics. Thanks Dave (and Mrs Flash of course)

See you on the Dark Side......
Dave just back here after a day off and those are some great pics. Thanks for them.
Anyone on Facebook may want to link to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's page, as they have been putting up some fabulous air-to-air photos of the 2 Lancs on a daily basis. I like especially the ones taken from the rear turret or astrodome of one Lanc of the other Lanc.

Update on the Canadian Lanc.
Canadian Lancaster Bomber grounded ahead of Bournemouth Air Festival
The plane experienced an "issue" with one of its engines as it was approaching the runway
Displays by the last two airworthy Lancaster bombers from World War Two have been cancelled after one suffered engine problems.
A Canadian Lancaster, currently on a UK tour, performed an engine shutdown during a flight in County Durham.
Its owners said it landed safely at Durham Tees Valley airport following the "precautionary" shutdown.
It had been due to fly to Bournemouth to take part in weekend displays with an RAF Lancaster bomber.
An airport spokesman said the plane had experienced an "issue" with one of its engines as it was approaching the runway at the end of a 30-minute demonstration flight for invited guests.
The Canadian Lancaster had flown across the Atlantic to take part in a tour of the UK
"The aircraft landed safely and nobody was injured and it taxied to stand.
"The Lancaster has been returned to the hangar and engineers are conducting tests to determine the cause of the fault," he added.
The last remaining flying Lancasters - owned by the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum - were due to fly at the Bournemouth Air Festival as well as the Shoreham Air Show and the Gedling Show in Nottinghamshire, as part of a two-month UK tour by the Canadian aircraft.
The aircraft are based at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire for the duration of the visit.
There were over 7,000 of the type of aircraft produced between 1941 and 1946.
A statement from Bournemouth Air Festival said: "We share the disappointment of all the Canadian Lancaster fans but we understand that she is over 70 years old and these sort of things can and do happen.
"We hope she's airworthy again soon."
An airworthy Merlin engine is being shipped from the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre near Skegness and this will be fitted over the weekend.

Now that's something no-one wants to see - esp those aboard !
Glad they all got down O.K. and at least I will get to see one of them tomorrow.
I'm really glad now that we caught them last weekend.

That's not "an issue" -- that is a DBU [Done Blowed Up].
That's a great photo but sad news. Glad they made it down in good shape. An engine can be fixed but people can't.
This is why 3D metal printing needs to be further developed -- imagine having a problem like this, and being able to fix it by nipping off to A Man And His Mate On An Industrial Estate....
