Thread: More non-historical scenarios

    Smile More non-historical scenarios

A non-historic scenario: Protect the bomber!!! Each side (preferably 2 teams) each has a bomber, and they must be the same. No matter what the maneuver deck is, the bomber can only fly in a straight line and execute 1 left wide turn and 1 right wide turn during the entire game. What the fighters try to do is to shoot down the enemy bomber. Each side gets 1 "support plane" it is a 2 seater of some kind and has 5 HP to spare. It can give these 5 HP to any plane on its team and must be touching bases to do so.

    Quite fun... I do say

Sorry. . . forgot to mention the bombers are pointed at each other, from opposite corners of the table

An optional rule: The plane that shoots down the enemy bomber gets a "flag" or special marker that shows it was the plane that shot down the enemy's bomber. If that plane can get back to its team's bomber, it can "resurrect" a downed plane on its team. If the other team shoots down the marked plane, they get to resurrect a plane(s). They can resurrect their bomber or 3 downed fighters. The resurrected planes star at that team's corner
This makes it more nail biting and sort of a "game continuer" the kind that you say, "Let us finish this game mom and then we'll go to bed" and it continues the game.

Default In pursuit of the Blue Max!

If you have never seen the movie "The Blue Max" with George Peppard in the lead role. Then it is a must see for WWI flying buffs...

And with the release of Set 4 out and the SE5a and Pfalz D.III's (YAY)
We can now run the Blue Max mission (s) or possibly linked missions for a complete campaign!

Your pilot Bruno Stachel has just arrived from pilot training and serving in the trenches. His goal is to be awarded the "Blue Max" No matter what the cost.

He starts out flying in the Pfalz D.III whilst the more experienced pilots fly more up to date aircraft.

    Cast of Charactors:
Ober Leutnant Fabian -Flying Fokker D.VII
Leutnant Bruno Stachel - Flying Pfalz D.III
    Others:
    Observation Balloon x1
    SE5's x 2

Mission #1 Bust the Observation Balloon
    Set up:
Ober Lt Fabian and Lt Stachel go up on a routine "balloon bust" mission.
There is only small arms infantry AA (one) available to defend the balloon.
This mission begins with the Aircraft and balloon on stick 2
The Allied balloon will set up on one side of the map at 6" from the edge and anywhere along that edge.
Ober Lt Fabian and Lt Stachel enter on the opposite side of the table anywhere along that edge. Stachel will begin the mission on Fabians Left.
Objective 1: Destroy the observation balloon by the end of turn 5.

*Note: Fabian will not fire on the balloon unless Stachel has not destroyed it by turn 5. He can if need be stafe and suppress the light arms AA covering the balloon.
If Stachel has not destroyed the balloon by the end of turn 5, then Fabian will automatically attack the balloon on turn 6 and it will be immediately destroyed regardless of the outcome.

In the beginning of Turn 7 Two SE5's show up at stick 4, and will enter anywhere on the edge of the table that the balloon is on.
Now it becomes an air to air battle with the SE5's.

    Objectives and outcomes:
    1) Survive to get back home. Make a run for your side of the table alive. (1 pt if both get off of their entry table edge)
    2) Shoot down at least 1 SE5a and leave the table edge (Bruno Stachel) (2 pts)
    3) Shoot down at least 1 SE5a and leave the table edge (Fabian) (2 pts)
    4) Shoot down at least 1 SE5a and leave the table edge (either) (2 pts)
    5) Shoot down Both SE5's and leave the table edge (Either) (4 pts)
    6) If Fabian Survives (+2 pts and if Stachel has shot down any of the SE5's then he gets his first kills as confirmed)
    7) If Fabian Dies (-1 pt and if Stachel has shot down one or both of the SE5's then his first kills will be unconfirmed*.)

*If this is the case then Stachel will become even more obsessed with getting his kills and, will become extremely ruthless in that pursuit.
