Thread: Checking in from across the pond..

Default Checking in from across the pond..

Well, here I am in New York City - all excited about the prospect of getting hold of planes that us poor Brits are currently unable to, and guess what... the storekeeps over here have exactly the same issues about stock as we do... gutted...
Found a chap with a plentiful supply of Zeros for those of you (Neil?) who like the Pacific WWII theatre. $12.95 which I guess is about 7-8 quid in proper money. (The Compleat Strategist on East 33rd Street - he does mail order/internet orders)

Have my WWI Aces T-Shirts with me which I shall wear with pride on Sunday.

Hope you guys all fine - am off to watch some form of 'rounders' game this evening, lol

Have you noticed that certain huge games over here are played mostly by girls back in Blighty (Netball and Rounders, lol)

Only Joking ... What a wonderfully kind and polite people these New Yorkers are.. having a brilliant time despite not having a clue what day or time it is.

Enjoy your stay in the Big Apple, Chris. I had a great time for 3 days there after Origins 2013 and saw A LOT of fantastic places. I see you are on mission there so do not forget to take a camera with you

Glad to hear that you are having a great time Chris.
I don't suppose it matters what time or day it is until you need to catch your flight home.

Wish I had read the reply about street vendors, lol... try as I might I had difficulties explaining to some that Hip Hop and Rap were not to my musical tastes and that just because I said I wasn't interested didn't mean I was 'disrespecting' anyone.
Had an interesting Tuesday - Bomb scare early morning (Times Square closed off - caused a few issues as my hotel was on Times Square) and then narrowly avoided getting mown down by crashing tour buses as I queued for show tickets at lunchtime (unfortunately 14 people were not so lucky and were quite badly hurt, three were in a really bad way but looks like they are going to be ok..) Times Square closed yet again - this one made the national news !! especially after they arrested one of the drivers for driving whilst 'impaired' - its NEVER dull in NYC !!!

Thanks for keeping us updated Chris, even if it is not quite what was expected.
Hope you get back in one piece then.

Glad you got back safely there my friend, and hope you enjoyed your time here. If you ever get out Arizona way, everyone must see the Grand Canyon, let me know.

    That's good to hear Chris.
Will be interested to see the pictures, but don't bust a gut trying to get them up. Have a good rest first.
