Default A new pilot for the squadron

Hello all together. It's me, a new addict to the game.

I came across this forum recently as I was interested in an alternative to X-Wing (I did not like the star wars theme, although the game mechanics seemed to be a thrilling alternative to normal board games). The information I found here was very helpful and resulted in buying four fighter planes as well as the Rules and Accessories Set, thanks for that (neither a deluxe set nor a duel pack was available)!
Since then I fought several battles and enjoyed the game as it is easy to learn but of great tactical depth and most important: a lot of player interaction. My enthusiasm is shared with most of my friends I have been playing with and even my girlfriend enjoys playing Wings of Glory as much as I do, so buying new planes is essential :-). Unfortunately the availability in Germany is quite bad and only a few models are in stock.

So, thats me and my first experience with Wings of Glory. I will check for gaming mats and new planes, especially a two seater to enhance the gaming experience in the near future.

    Best, fidelis

G'day Benjamin & welcome to the 'drome on behalf of the Pilots who fly in NSW down in Australia.

I can recommend buying through the Aerodrome store on line here as Keith who runs the Forum offers excellent discounted prices & freight to Germany should not be too expensive as the models are very light.

On behalf of the rest of the pilots based here in the U.K. welcome to the Drome Benjamin.
I'm sure that if you find your way to the Officers' Club, you will get another warm welcome and a few beers bought for you.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I received several suggestions where to buy miniatures which helps a lot, thanks for that. I've found several reports about selfmade improvements like flame and smoke markers, storage solutions and custom painted miniatures. I can't wait to work on these ideas and I'm sure you will find some of these projects in the hobby section soon.

Late, but hearty welcome from sunny Poland, Benjamin. Feel free to contact user Marechallannes, the Zirndorf Flight Leader and my Wingman if you need any assistance in the Drome or in shopping elsewhere. And I suggest you search the forum for Prague Summer Con - maybe you would join us in Prague next year?
