Thats a nice story Andy, thanks for passing it on to us.
Great story. Glad that collector realized what the helmet might mean to the person who wore it. Thanks for the post.
That was a very kind and generous act by the collector.
That's a great story Andy & lets hope that when Pvt Johnston is finally called to his maker that the Helmet will be given back to the collector for his kind & generous act.
Very moving.
It is always great to see one of the vets still alive, but when something good happens like this fine act on the part of the collector, it somehow gives everyone a warm glow not just the recipient.
Thanks for posting it Andy.

What a great story - thanks for posting Andy
Story brought back a memory. When I came back from Viet Nam I brought my helmet cover with me. It has a tear in it and the helmet a dent from falling when I was climbing a ladder to a guard tower. Years ago I found a helmet with a dent in the same spot as my helmet and the cover fits it exactly like it was the same helmet. Something special to me so I can understand the reaction for finding his helmet and returning it.
Really neat story Andy, thank you for sharing. Thank you for your story also Bob, and for your service.
