    Default Thursday Fight Night

1830 hrs, Brambo picks me up and we drive to the club in a nearby town
Last week, as he had not yet had an opportunity to fly it in anger, Trev devised a mission for his B25.
1943, A German submarine was sitting on the surface near the British coast; Mission, to sink it
Escort for the B25 was two P51s
Cover for the Sub was three FW190s
final score, sub escaped (too quickly), B25 frustrated, one FW shot down, two others ran away damaged.
    One Mustang shot down.

    This week, Submarine rules revamped.
Scenario: 1940, A British sub is stranded off the British coast. the Germans send 2 Stukas with 2 Bf109s as escort
The British send 3 Hurricanes IIs to provide cover for the Sub.
Just as the first Ju87 is about to execute it's dive, it receives the final fatal round of damage and falls out of the sky. two cards later, it's wing man follows it down. The Hurricanes then proceed to demolish the 109s. One Hurricane has taken so many attacks Trev and I agree the pilot deserves a medal.
Because there is still time to play before we go home, I unpack my Me110 and throw that, un escorted, against the Hurricanes in a last ditch attempt to catch the Sub, which is nearly repaired.
Half way up the table, and the Sub slips away. "Never mind" I say, "there is a town on the map, I'll bomb the chippy"
So I manage to get up the table, misjudge the turning ability of the 110, and have to circle back around. Much commenting on what a hunk of junk the 110 is.
Trev meanwhile is being very nice, and hardly trying to shoot at me. I finally drop two loads over the town. First load...Missed! Second load....Missed!! again!!!!
Ok. really miffed now. Trev is suddenly surprised when the 110, now lightened of its load, immelmans back towards his flight of Hurricanes. At Last, I manage to knock down the Hurricane that has been taking all the damage.......the returning fire however knocks me down as well.
    Final score
RAF, One sub protected, two Divebombers destroyed, two 109s destroyed, one Me110 destroyed.
Luftwaffe, one Hurricane shot down, eventually, after nearly three hours of gameplay.

    Hangs head in shame.

    Bl***y good fun though

Never mind John, as a PoW. you may even get a meal from the Chippy you failed to destroy before the Warmington Home guard hand you over. Oh! sorry that was the U. boat Commander not you. Tough luck then!

A little cracker. Pics next time please. Just done some depth charge rules. Rob is going to give them a go and let me know how they go. Another option than bombing.
See you on the Dark Side......

I wanted to give Stukas a go, and this seemed a good scenario to try them out.
Next time I'll just use more of them, and pick a target that can't move or shoot back

    Nice little AAR.

A good summary John, especially your experiences with the Bf.110.

Heavy fighters are a class of its own.
