Thread: What's on your work bench for July?

Lightbulb What's on your work bench for July?

I have a long list of builds for July. My three 144 scale Gladiator Mk2 have arrived from Shapeways. A Sweet C.200 is waiting for a paint job. Several Late war Japanese aircraft need to be built. Some repaints of Takara prepainted desert Me-109-F2`s body codes. Maybe a couple of Minicraft Ju-88`s for desert service.

Just two Dehaviland Mosquitoes at the moment, but several Italian Battleships and a couple of Cruisers are waiting in the wings.

My workbench currently boasts pretty much the same stuff I put there for completion in June! I'm so far behind schedule!

There's six dolphins, three albatros scouts, a spad xi, a couple of Fokker D7s and three series 7 planes that need pilots and touching up. This lot may take a while.

Lots of planes waiting in the queue, so of course, I pull down my Mordhelm game, and think about warbands

So far did a Dr1 for Raben, the red one, then will do a blue Raben for Jasta 5. That got put on hold to start my first Shapeways craft that just came in last Thursday. Got 2 Alb DIII(WSF)for my make believe Jasta Wittrich project and 2 N11. One N11 in WSF and 1 in FUD. The WSF craft had some pretty bad stepping on the upper wing surfaces, but I decided to see what I could do about it. After that I have 8 Ares craft that I want to do re-paints on. Will get some photos up when I can. Good luck to all in your July endeavors.

Stepping is easy, get some vinyl wall spackle at the hardware store and wipe it onto the affected area, let dry and sand lightly, stepping is gone!

Thanks for the tip, will have to see what I can do if I get another "stepped" aircraft. I already tried my magic on it, seeing that my magic is 1st grade school program level it came out pretty bad. But I will still fly it anyway. The 2 Alb' came out pretty nice using the white glue/sanding method. I am pleased with them. The other N11 in FUD is a wonderful little model and I look forward to completing it with some decals from Dom, very nice gentleman by the way. Again, will try to get some pics up when done.

Nice looking aircraft you have there James, can't wait to see them all gussied up.

I've just completed my first repaint on a Siemens Schuckert D.III for Kest 5, I'm planning on a further repaint for this unit, my fictitious pilot and Lt. Helmut Lange will be escorting a couple of Halbestadt CL.II's later on today.

Decals ordered for my planned repaint, all that need is another Lt. Helmut Lange Siemens Schuckert D.III and I'll have yet another plane to add to my collection, but knowing me I'll give in to temptation and buy another plane to go with my planned purchase.

Thanks to all the card designers out there, something different is now on the workbench. Eight cards for planes I've already painted and one to inspire me to finish a plane I've been working on for 18 months now.

No airplanes for the last month. Been painting up a Blood Bowl team instead. This is something I can do downstairs while our daughter is sleeping. First ever fantasy miniatures I'm painting. These are done, still 8 to go...

No planes here either. Hoping to get some new AC next month. Birthday is coming.
Am working on a 1/12 scale R/C Lobster boat. Taking it along on our family vacation to the Maine coast.
Maybe I can catch some 1/12 scale lobsters with it.

Its actually a plastic molded kit Rich.
The body is one part. Tail plane, prop, floats and struts are separate, although the struts are one front set and one back set all in one piece too. So no juggling with several struts is needed. Took about 20 minutes to de flash and assemble.

I understand that it belongs to a 1/200 Bismark, but how have you managed to get your hands on just the plane?

All my ships are at 1:1200 excepting Subs and small craft at 1 to 200. They look better if planes land or low level attack them at this scale. All my scales are chosen for the best photographic outcome, and nothing to do with the game scales which we know don't relate. Just like war gaming really. You get used to it when you could hide a Regiment behind a house.
