    Default Vermont Reporting In

Sorry I haven't been able to post sooner, it's finals week at my high school.
Let's see, my Dad brought me to Rhinebeck a year ago and that got me interested in WW1 aviation. And since I really liked strategic games, (chess champion Vermont a couple years ago, led strategic games club at my school, really liked Stratego for a while, etc.) it seemed like a logical next step. I like how simple yet fun the game is. It makes me think of those games where they say it is easy to learn but hard to master.
I don't have too many miniatures so far, only 9, but I just got a Caproni which I've been itching to try. Unfortunately I have to wait until this weekend, because finals. However I'm always looking for more miniatures to buy though and I might just have to barrage my relatives with Wings of Glory wishlists for my birthday this month. I really like the AARs on this sight, and I might post one of my own soon. The only problem being I don't have one of those nice mats that make the AARs look nice, I'll probably custom make my own.
This forum looks great from what I've seen so far
    Thanks,
    Elijah

Welcome to the Drome from Cape Cod.

I've started on a home made mat. Takes a little time but somewhat easy. Get a table pad of piece of cloth in either green or brown. Spray paint field patches and forests with newspaper for stencils.

Welcome Elijah. As Bobby said, before you know it, you will be in a Wings of Glory miniature support group. So many of us said early on, we were only going to have a few minis, or only play with cards. As the months rolled by, our homes started filling up with planes. Then the darkside of WWII starts calling. The rest is history.

For an inexpensive alternative to mats, look at felt from a local fabric store.

Looking forward to your first AAR.

Welcome to the forum Elijah. I started WoG with a trade just a bit over a Month ago, got the RAP and 14 minis. Now I have 41 minis and a bunch of maneuver decks from the old booster packs. I'm hooked on the game. Lots of fun. A lot of really nice folks on the forum and there is a ton of info here. A lot of the gang post some really nice painting examples and other stuff, there are some great files in the download section also. So again, welcome, hope you enjoy your time on one of the friendliest places on the internet.
By the way, good luck on your finals, and hope you get some nice WoG stuff for your birthday.

Howdy from Kansas, Elijah. I'm envious that you got to go to Rhinebeck.
