I do not think it is a good idea to so blatantly advertise to your opponents that your guns are jammed.
Since your opponent had to show the jam guns card to you, I think he knows.
Looks like "money for jam" to me.........
They do look pretty cool. A big big for my tastes, but hen again, the ones I've made up are much smaller and can be placed on the flight stand if needed.
I've not posted them just yet. Eric (7eat51) was supposed to play test with them and do an AAR featuring them. I'll get some photos up later tonight.
I already went and ordered a couple of these. Maybe should've waited until it got a "forum-approved" stamp but ah well. They look pretty freaking cool.
I must admit that his crashed plane markers look really attractive!
Thanks for the link!
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
Smoke and flame markers I can see the appeal of, but littering the play area with markers like this? You might as well just play a board game of something (as you can tell, I am not a fan of markers and suchlike on tables unless they are aesthetically pleasing and avoid make the play area look like a toy shop or something from Avalon Hill - like this don't. I do like the "Fire and Fury" approach, with markers that fit in with th figures being used, such as a reloading soldier for units low on ammo, a broken gun to denote a damaged artillery battery, a charging officer or standard bearer to denote a unit on a breakthrough, etc. - hence fire and smoke markers, especially the long, thin pipecleaner variety, appeal to my aesthetics)
In multi-player, multi-aircraft games, revealing a gun jam to all and sundry could significantly change next turn's card selection, so I will not purchase these.
I do already have several sets of his crashed aircraft and fire- and smoke-markers - they are great!
What other card do you reveal to your enemy after he's shot you anyway? Once you show the person, everyone else already knows. Hence why there are jam counters in the RAP to begin with. They seem kinda cool, perhaps a little unnecessary but cool nonetheless.

I guess the next thing will be clip on wounded pilots. Oh, the horror!
Still waiting to see what Keith has.
That's actually pretty cute. I mean cool.
I have also ordered a couple of sets, the intention is to use them at display games, for Mall night I think we will keep to keeping the markers on the console
So what happens when the pilot is wounded? Thats 4 rounds for clearing the jam.....
Here is my counter set for jammed guns:
And at less than $2.50 for a pack of two sets (6 jam tokens and 2 engine damaged tokens), they are a pretty good value.
I am with David on this one. As good as thee product are (No offence Herr Oberst) when I have shakey hands I see no point of putting clutter on the bases which are going to fall off every time I move a model
Sound arguments on both sides... but I like them. Very crisp, and I suspect they'll photograph a little better than the new counters & cards.
Like them Keith. My cardboard variant (official) are getting a bit weather worn after so many games and shows. Plastic lasts longer and yours are cheaper too. Whats to argue!
See you on the Dark Side......
I did have the idea of cutting small slots into my flight bases that would all you to stick the crosshair tip into it. That way they would stay put until you pulled them out. I decided not to for a couple of reasons:
1. It would be a bit fiddly sticking them in.
2. You'd start pulling them out the very next maneuver card.
3. If you did not use these, the flight bases would still have the slots cut out of them.
In the end, I found that just having them lose on the bases (or cockpit) worked just fine. If they do slide off (not a big issue for me since I move my planes pretty carefully), I just remove one and toss the remaining one(s) back on the base. Takes the same amount of time as adding or removing the official tokens.
I usually just keep one on the base, and the others on the deck, plane card, or cockpit. The marker on the base serves as a reminder (for me) when managing multiple kites and is the last to be removed. That way I can mark special damage, but not clutter the playing surface when I eventually knock them onto the table.
I use ordinary tokens, but I find Oberst's tokens very attractive. And someone rightfully said on this topic before: "Don't remind bad guys you have a problem!" They could use it for their own uncanny purpose And then you go That's why I put tokens on console or beside it
Don't think I would worry about anything Forum approved. Was curious how folks who bought them from Pyrkol like them?
I was thinking about a marker that could be hand held such as a dial or something equivalent that eliminates loose tokens.
The Jammed Gun tokens are the closest thing to that....I think....so for those of you that have bought them, how are they working?
Anyone use these tokens yet? How did you like them?
I have several sets of the Jam counters posted by the OP and I have to say I love them, they are actually better for keeping track in solo games. I also have the flame and smoke counters.
Mine are on route.

I do really like them but still on the fence with them. They do seem to look a little "cluttery".
My vision would be to have a small hand held dial of sorts. The dial could be with your cockpit card.....even place it face down if you want.....just thinking out loud at the moment.
They certainly look better on the new white cockpits than a load of card counters do.
I'll try and remember to take a shot when I play my game tomorrow.

I buy all things AA (i.e. Keith).
I much prefer Keith's Jam and Engine Damaged flat tokens compared to attacking the other Jam Token on the stand.
