It was mid-March and the situation along the front continued to heat-up. With the Hun becoming increasingly aggressive we were flying more sorties.
I was alone in Huntress scouting the front when I happened upon an Eindecker. I turned toward the Hun to engage her. The pilot seemed to be focused on something on the ground and I was able to approach fairly close before he took evasive action. My guess is he was flying a recon mission.

He started to flee, but I closed and managed to get behind him making my shots count.

He managed to break contact and darted away.

I again gave chase and we flew deeper into friendly territory before he looped back towards No Man's Land.

We again closed with one another and I was able to broadside him.

He then fled, but I stayed close enough to finish him. He went down on his side of the line trailing white smoke as he crashed into the earth.
