A busy day in the Great War. Lots of things happened. In 1917, there were 27 claims for victories, including one each for MvR and Billy Bishop.

It would appear that I share a birthday with Canadian Ace Captain Richard "****ie" Dawes, flying Camels and credited with 9 victories, 8 victories with 45 Squadron and 1 victory with 28 Squadron.

What I have found some time ago is that some of the top scoring German aces are Tauruses (Bulls) as far as stars are concerned (like me ):
    Those were:
    MvR,
    Ernst Udet,
    Josef Jacobs,
    Paul Baumer,
    Oswald Boelcke.

I'm exactly the same age as Hoban "Wash" Washburne, the best pilot in the Verse. Well actually I'm the same age as Alan Tudyk, but it's close.
