Thread: Can someone Prop me up ?!

Default Can someone Prop me up ?!

Do any of you local chaps have a spare propeller for a Shapeways model ?
I was given a Sopwith Tripe for Crimble but it came sans its prop and S/ways don't appear to be able to furbish me with a replacement (even though mine and several others must be there somewhere!). I know some of you chaps use plastic discs instead of the prop that comes with a model and I was hoping someone might have one or two gash ones they might post to me ?
Send me a pm if you can help - thanks in anticipation !

Dave, Thomas AKA Cappy Tom had removed prop blades in all his WGS aircraft and installed transparent plastic discs (I've seen them at Origins) and he should at lest know the source or even have them as spares. PM him and he shall be of help as usual

Personally I like AIM models for their lack of breaking plastic blades!

Dave, if you can locate a source let me know--I am looking for some of the disks myself. Thanks!

I agree! I actually feel like removing the props from my WW2 aircraft as they seem better looking without a stationary prop.

I must admit I really like my Kate's with plastic disc prop. They look the bizz.

Dave, does it have to be a Shapeways prop? Have a few Skytrex ones spare.

Does anyone know where I can get some plastic disks for props? I am horrible at cutting circles, even if I could find stock in the right thickness (or thinness).

Get yourself to a craft shop Anthony & buy yourself a 3/4" cutter - basically a big hole punch - any blister packaging will provide raw materials for the disc providing it's not too thick.
