Any updates on these yet? I keep expecting some Facebook photos of the prototypes to appear at any time. How about the rumored reprints set to street before these guys?
Same here about the release. Since the bombers are due out this year maybe these will be out early next year.
I for one would like to see the Japanese Zero be released.
I can only pray & hope.
:-)
The Zero appeared in the Nexus series 1 models. However, perhaps a later model Zero might be produced. Alternatively, if series 1` is 'reprinted', Ares could correct the statistics and movement decks.
Man, I know Sails of Glory is taking a lot of Ares' attention and resources, but if they really want to see this game die off they need to keep doing what they are doing. We haven't had a new product in a year, and my local hobby shops that picked up the line after the relaunch are dropping it. Thankfully, the heavies are right around the corner, but one release a year is not going to keep this game going long term. Not with the X-wing, Attack Wing, and Star Wars Armada games out there competing in the fantasy side of the hobby.
I really want some info on these series six aircraft from Ares. Anything from prototype pictures to an anticipated release date would be greatly appreciated. I think most of us that really like WGS are salivating over finally being able to add SBDs to our lineups. Many of us felt slighted the first time they were left out for a second Axis divebomber and I know I am a little nervous that the game is going to be canned before we get them. I am not trying to be a nervous norvus, but one supposes no news on a game is never good and foreshadows a company focusing on other projects. We have also been told about a reprint of some sort for WOW series 1, at least for an aircraft or two or however they are going to do it. What is going on there? In the end, I want to be able to walk into these hobby shops loaded with info and excitement to try and convince them to continure stocking the line.
I know in 2012 -2013 we received a lot of stuff for this game. I do want to point out that the majority of that stuff were products being developed already by Nexus and therefore a lot of the work and cost was already done beforehand.
Come on Ares, give me some hope and excitement to send more money your way. That can be in the form of Series Six and then some info on series seven that hopefully includes the Corsair.
OHHHH and thanks for the Heavies!!!! They look amazing and I can't wait to add them to my flight lines.

Daniel, I think you would find good company on the Anchorage. I think Ares has its hands in many other games at present - including Kickstarters, so these two are not getting the attention we desire, at least to our perceptions. I strongly doubt WoG will die off. I hope the same is true for SoG. More consistent information from Ares would be a good thing, however.

I've said this on the Anchorage and I'll say it here, Ares needs help on picking out new waves. Ares should pole their site members for new waves, at least once to see if that improves their WWII sales. I'm with Nightbomber on wanting the Sturmovik. And I can't believe the Corsair isn't here yet. And I personally love the look and history of the PZL-P.11's that got off the ground.
I use to buy at least two of everything, but not anymore (until they start listening to the people that buy their planes).
And yes, I know I'm just another grumpy old man.
Not dieing off at all. I'll try and post some good info for you tonight... it's at the house. I will just say I know what is slated for Series 7
And Ares recently announced that Wave 3 will include proper Spanish ships, and that the next reprint of Wave 1 (already in the works) will include some Spanish repaints. So there is still wind in the sails there as well.
Daniel, Rob's told me about some exciting stuff planned for WGS the next year--but he suggested it might be helpful to sit on it until the B-17s are out and you start wondering what's next.
I tell you this though: some longstanding Fan Wishes are about to be granted.
Funny thing, before the announcement, SGN was feeling like we were the Bastard Stepchildren... but with the proposed lineup for 2015, I can see why Rob voiced a concern about possibly having to throttle DOWN a little on it so our wallets can keep up.
Thanks all for the supportive responses. Obviously, we all love this game and want to see it continue. I am very excited to hear about your exciting news Keith. Its reassuring to hear that their are plans in place for more waves. I just hope they can bring them to market a little faster than we seen over the last year and half or so. Two major releases a year would work great for my wallet, but I also understand that is too difficult for other players.
Back to series 7 for a minute, PLEASE tell me the Corsair is in that line up! That and a Folgore or Veltro and I would be in heaven! A bonus would be the lack of a Japanese aircraft, as they have plenty out and coming out! I wouldn't mind seeing some more Zeros in the near future though.
I am all ears, blow my socks off please Ares!
I am curious too...! Tell us more about future plans in WGS, sir
I really hope, with all this spending to setup series 7 and SGN#3, that they get to re-releasing WGS series 1 and 2 really soon

Hmmm. I would rather not see some of the aircraft reprinted from WOG series II, but honestly, will buy pretty much anything as long as the quality stays the same and the price reasonable. A couple more British marking Hurricanes would be nice. I don't want the Vals, especially with Judys coming out. The D.520s are some of the most colorful and cool looking planes in the game, perhaps a tad bit under rated, but I can't say I am screaming for more. The Stuka is awesome, but not sure I really want/need another 3 Stuka variants.
From WOG series 1, I would into more Wildcats and Zeros. Seeing as Spits and 109s showed in WGS as later war variants, I would rather see something else personally, especially with some cool Soviet and Italian aircraft remaining to be done.
Now that I am thinking about it, one plane I really hope gets made sooner than later is the Hellcat. It was a key aircraft to victory in the Pacific. Of course, the P-38 would awesome as well. Who am I kidding, I hope all the American fighters get made at some point!
So Boss, you gonna spill the beans or are we on lockdown until the Heavies get here?
Being that I'm in denial, and pretending that I'm not into WSG, it shouldn't matter to me what comes out.
However, I am interested in a 1/200 scale re-enactment of the Battle of Britain, from end-to-end. All the planes at once, on a gym floor?
Perhaps something less ambitious and just do Adlertag ("Eagle Day")?
So, I need a few more minis, and hopefully all in British/North European color schemes, so I don't have to repaint a bunch.

It is possible to obtain Hellcat and P-38 models from other sources, Daniel. The problem with simply reprinting wave 2 is that the moulds are set up to produce a Hurricane, a D-520, a Stuka and a Val together at the same time, so they cannot make one without the other three.
Im guessing they've abandoned that mould and if they want to reprint the hurri they would do it from scratch. Same as series 1.
With the B-17 coming out this month and then the P-47 all three of my favorite WGS planes will be out there. My wife informs me that the x3 US Wildcats I picked up from someone on this site arrived in the mail today so all is good in the world!
The other plane I really want to see is the Corsair. For now I have my DVR set to record episodes of Baa Baa Black Sheep...
Since I am just getting into this game I should ask: How many planes are too many planes?
"How many planes are too many planes?"
This guy!!
It is possible that the molds are gone. It was reported a while ago that Ares wanted to modify or abandon the Nexus scheme of series printing.
But they obviously haven't done that for WGF yet
Single plane printing would give them more inventory control and flexibility, and give us planes most in demand. But the fresh startup cost are probably high

Thanks for the reminder David of the other 1/200 options out there. However, I hate double buying things, so I would rather wait for Ares to put it out before buying another line's aircraft. When WGS line ends, be it tomorrow or 20 years from now, I will fill in the holes then. One thing I may not wait on is some Jug bubbletops. I love the P-47 Razorbacks, but like the late war bubbletop variants even more. I suppose if the game goes on long enough we could eventually see Ares make them, but there are a lot of other planes I would want to see made first.
So about the info Boss?, what's the hold up?
We're curious after the announcement of WGS series 7.
Voilą le soleil d'Austerlitz!

That is the sort of response I was looking for!
And next, the Grumman Avenger...
Oh...
I just woke up, I must have been dreaming...
My escort carriers are looking to put in orders for VC squadrons... Looks like they will have to fill their orders with the Dauntless until then...
I'm sorry did I mention the Grumman Avenger? If not then Grumman Avenger...
So there I was the other day eating a can of Grumman Avenger...
It is so beautiful her in Grumman Avenger, the Grumman Avenger is shining and I am sipping on a cup of Grumman Avenger...
I just finished cleaning the Grumman Avenger in preparation for my Grumman Avenger to arrive at the Grumman Avenger, she had been out of Grumman Avenger in Grumman Avenger for approximately Grumman Avenger.
I don't know about all of you, but I'm not really sure What WOG WWII aircraft I would want Ares to come up with next but my top three picks in order are as follows:
1. Grumman Avenger
2. Grumman Avenger
3. Grumman Avenger
and if they can't do those, then...
4. The Grumman Avenger
I just can't decide what aircraft they should do next.
Chris
(p.s. Maybe the Grumman Avenger and his friend Mitsubishi G4M2 Betty, and please replace the Grumman Avenger text that appears above with Grumman Avenger and Hellcat )

Chris
Good choice but I have to add a Kate to the mix.
I like it Chris, I like it.
No Avenger & Hellcat in series 6 & 7.
I think you will not survive without a therapy till series 8 is announced, Chris.
Voilą le soleil d'Austerlitz!
I'd rather have a B6N Jill to balance the Avenger, save Kate for early-war to go with the TBD Devastator.
Yeh, if we are sticking with Ares direction and forgetting the Eastern front for a while, Grumman Avenger and the Hellcat would be my picks given what we are already promised.
Honestly I am super excited about the ME410 though. I think Ares is wise to do majority popular planes and a few rarities in there. Its the rarities that keep us guessing and maintain the addictions of the guys who are into the smaller lesser known theatres. Honestly, if all we got was thunderbolts, mustangs, dauntless's and Jap planes for them to fight I would probably go back to the WW1 version of this game. But because they include planes like the Beaufighter and ME410, I'm still buying every mini they release.
Hmmm...as far as 410 is concerned we should differentiate between "rarity" and "lesser known theatres" IMHO. 410 is a real rarity for it's use was very, very limited and thus it limits it's use in historical based scenarios, while for example Il-2 Sturmovik was very popular and commonly used on a "lesser known theatre". 410 is a very bad choice in my opinion (it is an interesting plane however, but not for WGS), especially when we still do not have other much popular German planes that players would use in HISTORICAL scenarios. Playing with 410s may create a false opinion of it's common use in the WWII air war.
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
"Playing with 410s may create a false opinion of it's common use in the WWII air war."
Somehow I get the feeling there are enough people around to correct that misconception if it ever got out...
I would prefer an Il-2. I would prefer a FW 190a. But, the ME410 is big, and powerful, and looks cool. Ill get it out on the table a lot.
I agree with you. The IL-2 must appear in the next series. Its so classic and famous! Well, we can only wait and play in the meantime. Although I have to say new players or people that dont know mich about WWII air combat may think that the Me-410 was commom. Im not talking about us, but someone that may know the game and then go researching all this stuff about WWII.
Oh and nice new Polikarpov Evan!
Thanks
Nick

Hmmm...
Shturmovik vs. late-model Kanonenvogel Stuka. MiG-3 vs. _____ for an Ostfront set?
Later: Pe-2 vs. Hs129... still needs fighters though.
"Although I have to say new players or people that dont know mich about WWII air combat may think that the Me-410 was commom"
yes, I concede you guys are probably right.
"Oh and nice new Polikarpov Evan!"
Yes! well, with winter being over here in Australia and all.
The new upcoming (nice & wanted) US planes need cannonfodder.
Unfortunately the IL2 did not count as their prey, the Me410 did so.
I'm happy about another Axis/German twin engined, heavy fighter.
...and I would bet a glass of beer that the Kawasaki KI-45 will be published before a Iljuschin IL2.
Voilą le soleil d'Austerlitz!

Ju 88 nightfighter...
Voilą le soleil d'Austerlitz!
If it looks cool enough.
Why not?
Voilą le soleil d'Austerlitz!
I'm guessing they would go for the cooler, most famouse ones, such as P-51, P-38, Fw-190, Me-109, Bf-110... even a Il-2 would be best selling (IMHO)
btw: I'll buy at least one of each all the rest of Series 6 (Corsairs I'll probably buy all three)... I'm not buying the Me-410 until the Il-2 is released -- I'm protesting
Always the same good purposes, Ezekiel.
Just one example:
I never planed to buy Italian Hanriots or A-H Aviatiks. I only wanted the Belgian blue Hanriot for the Western Front.
When I saw the Hanriots and Aviatiks in Ladinek's shop 2013 "in nature" I could not resist. Such beautiful WWI planes. Now I have them all and wait for the Macchi flyboats for more A-H action.
I never planed to buy a black Bf.110 nightfighter. Now I have two of them, the black Beaufighter too and I can't wait any more for the Lancasters.
So my personal opinon about Ares Games WGF & WGS planes is: Never say never! You can maybe stay at distance here in the forum, but I'm shure if you play WGS and you see a Me410 with a nice camouflage in a shop, you can't resist, too.
Voilą le soleil d'Austerlitz!
