    Default WMMS 2014

Hi chaps I just want to do a head count for WMMS for next year to see who would like to attend as once I've got an idea of what sort of numbers I can expect then I'll contact the shows organizers.

I will give a provisional yes, but it will very much depend on my being able to get a lift.

Definate yes from me! Had a blast last time, and made a few quid on the 'bring n buy'.

I'll try again to contact Paul tonight as he's in charge of the gamers demonstration/participation side of things, so it looks like we've got a nice group developing who're keen to attend that's great news, I'll ask for two tables one for WGF and one for WGS so that the public get to see the two variants of WoG, I'd like one table to be our participation table and the other for a demonstration table, last year we had the WGS table as our participation table do we want to have a change next year and have the WGF table as the participation table ? I'll also contact Figures in Comfort, KR Mulitcases, Red Eagle Miniatures and Stafford Games so that they can bring a suitable enough stock for us WoG addicts and the potential pilots out there, so I'll keep you guys posted on any developments

  12. #12

    Provisional yes, dependent on work.
See you on the Dark Side......

I would like to see a participation game on both tables next year Mark if the hosts will allow it. i think that the public get more out of a bit of hands on. If not do a swap to ring the changes.

Already ahead of you on that regards Rob as it'll be nice to have potential new pilots participating in both WGF and WGS.

Mark has got some potent scenarios lined up for WGF. I'm going to add some spice to them with Mark over the coming months

There's going to be three scenarios with an emergency one just in case we finish early and want to have more mayhem/fun , I've given Hayden a rough outline of what I want to happen in all of the scenarios and as he's mentioned he'll be adding his own extras so gentlemen expect the unexpected on that regard as Hayden can be quite inventive, there will be prizes on the day and they'll be linked in with how many victory points inderviduals score throughout the day and there'll also be a team prize for the side who wins all of their objectives, that is all I can tell you gentlemen as we're still in the developing stage but I'll keep you guys informed when we're finished and everything will be posted up here on the forum after we've forwarded all the details onto Rob and Chris.

WGS will be the usual Western Front format, using meat-grinder scenarios or an escort task where participants are encouraged to work together against the 'drome players.

I have been amassing a wider variety of targets, with a few unusual choices to encourage enquiry.

As my usual wingman (The Red Dragon) will not be in the UK I would appreciate some help with this one. We were quite busy last time and help is needed to fly the 109s & 110s (or maybe the 190s if they arrive in time).

Quite a few of the WGF guys do play the WGS version so I'm sure they'd be happy to help out as it's for the greater good of the forum community to promote both versions of the game.

I've spoken to Paul who's organizing the gaming tables at WMMS, he did mention that he'll contact me in January to confirm the number of tables required, we might only have one table or two tables but if we've only got the one table we can run WGF for the first half then for the remainder WFS, I know the situation might not be ideal but I'll know more next year.

At least now we have our own portable display table and will have the banner and stand, we can put on a bit of extra bling whatever the situation. I'm sure we will cope one way or another Mark.

Speaking of bling, I emailed Mark a first draft of the first scenario late last night.

Should be a nice intro, and the idea is that they get progressively more spectacular as the day progresses.
An interesting Early War showdown to kick things off. The results may impact on the next scenario.

That's all your getting for now

That makes waiting to find out even worse. I'd better calm down with a soothing G&T.

Don't worry Neil I'm sure we'll have a second table as it is early days yet wingman.

  38. #38

I've just spoken to Paul one of the organisers of WMMS, and I've told him that we could have up to nine people attending the show, he did say that they'd prefer four to five people to one table, then I did mention that we'd like to split our numbers up so that we could have up to five people on the WWI table and the same for the WWII table he seemed happy with that, but I'll phone him back in January to confirm what we'll be doing, I hope this will be alright chaps and I'm aiming to have both tables for participation games as it's good for us as we could gain more new potential pilots based here in Blighty, so from just having just one table I think I might have gained us an extra table to promote WGF and WGS

Hi chaps I've just spoken to Paul and we could be back to just one table, but we could have another table if some other demo/participation display drops out, we're ok to bring a display table and for us to use our Wings of Glory banner, if we've only got one table chaps what I propose is that the first half will be for the WWI gamers then the other half for the WWII gamers, it's not ideal but the situation might change when Paul contacts me next month as I mentioned before we could gain another table.

Keep us posted Mark. Scenario 2 still needs completion, and any thoughts or suggestions on the participation side?

I had visions of speeding things up for newbies, as they may be trying a few games throughout the day.
How about a photo recon mission for them, during a big dogfight.

Could make up some cards using actual WWI aerial photos, and once they have one they head for home all guns-a-blazin.
