Default Derby 29th: "Where's my wingman?" "Taking pictures Sir"

Some shots from the magnificent Derby show.

Simon's (The Black Knight) Battle of Britain game.

    Attachment 111132
Simon's Battle of Britain slugfest set up. Right flank Spitfire wing ready to pounce.

    Attachment 111133
The Hurricane's, covering the left, take take on this threat.

    Attachment 111134
The sneaky Hun trying to get in under the radar, two JU87's (unescorted) brave the hostile British reaction.

    Attachment 111135
The two wiley British pilots, young Milan and Lawrence are maneuvering for position. (What great pilots they were too. A quick ground briefing by Simon and these two novice pilots were quickly in the thick of the action.

    Attachment 111136
The dastardly Hun strikes from behind.

    Attachment 111137
Many combat moves further on and JU87 number 1 plunges into the white cliffs of Dover. Both British planes badly damaged decide to get the last Stuka before heading back to base and a well earned bacon butty.

    Attachment 111138
Stuka number 2, bombs dropped, tries to make it back home closely followed by Lawrence in his engine damaged Spitfire. Young Milan already having crash landed.

    Attachment 111139
The tenacious British pilot will get his man, and does as the next move sees the stricken Stuka, minus rear gunner plunge into the Channel.

Sorry took no pics of 2nd game, suffice to say th HE111 went down on the White Cliffs, seems all the German planes wanted to 'land' there. Then The lone ME109 took on the 2 Hurricanes and 2 Spitfires with the inevitable result.

That mat is really effective. Unfortunately I planned to try my hand at that but I didn't get time, I was too busy putting Kyte's fires out Maybe next time.

Talking of mats, gives me a chance to thank Neil for the very nice mat of No mans' land with which he presented me at the start of the event. Rob.

Your welcome Rob. I'm glad it went to a good home. Look forward to seeing it in some of your AAR's.
