Like on patrol just flying around waiting, waiting, waiting, running out of fuel soon. Waiting and waiting.

Exactly. Too many here get upset having to wait. They'll get to us.

Are they still on strike? Do you please have news?

SUPPOSEDLY they're back at work... but with a months-long backlog...

Bear in mind, I know these guys' Behavioral Analysis--they think the world is their due and anyone who doesn't give it to them is the enemy, so I just generally on principle assume that NOTHING is beneath them. Expect the worst and anything short of it becomes a pleasant surprise...

This whole strike was because they wanted the right to summarily and unilaterally without even consulting or telling the other side first fire *any* or *all* of the arbitrators between them and Pacific Maritime Association (the shippers' org) with NO say from PMA, for any reason at all no matter how trivial or even none whatsoever. In a nutshell, Thugs Gonna Thug... and PMA understandably wasn't gonna let 'em try to intimidate the arbitrators like that.

Color me cynical, though... and do remember the old saw about over here the Cosa Nostra ran the East Coast docks and the Communist Movement the West Coast... both institutions with plenty of legbreakers on the rosters.

Other game publishers have the same problems.

Read about some FFG products that can't be published because they that don't reach the warehouses in the U.S.

Thank God that we don't play our game with Chinese fruits.

Otherwise Series 8 would be scruffy now.

I need some WGF series 8 planes for Prague Summer Con 2015, but I have an emergency plan for running my scenario.

And what's the term for a deliberate work slowdown, where one only does the bare minimum required to make it look like one is "working"? I suspect there's that happening as well.

Of course, the Japanese have just installed the first generation of menial-labor robots in hotels.... >:)

I guess the West Coast strike has lasted longer because those Communists haven't had anyone capable of making an offer that no one could refuse ...

Ares published an article on the E.V this weekend. Don't know if that means that they see some light in the tunnel or if they are just teasing us to hang on.
But I hope there will be some Ac:s landing soon.....

Bear in mind, there's also going to be that ridiculous backlog in the ports for a while...

My sources say that Series 8 is not going thought the southern port... it's entering the states via the northern route. So, the port delays should not overly effect them arriving. that said, I guess there is always the chance that the back-age down south could still interfere with things everywhere if resources have been diverted that way.

Thanks for the reply Herr Oberst.
I guess its all just part of life's rich pattern.
    Worse things happen at sea.
I just hope we never get to experience anything worse at sea.

No kidding -- in the old _Babylon 5_ group up here, they had "Thwap, The Trout Of Discipline"; make a bad pun, get Thwap-ped. Of course, when The SO mentioned this to me, my response was:
