Beautiful looking machines! Can't wait for mine to arrive.
Sweet! Enjoy those beautiful birds. Glad they got them to you guys in a timely manor.
Nice brace of aircraft there.
The Linke-Crawford Aviatik was an indulgence on my part as I don't do Austro-Hungarian types.
The Hanriot HD1 is an escort for my Belgian RE8. I don't have a Belgian Camel yet. A future project would be a re-paint of another HD1 as a second Belgian machine, I like the Belgian air force.
The Triplanes were a pure joy and were my main purchase.
Very nice aircraft, I just want the postman to deliver mine now
yes mine are sat in my local games store waiting for me to get in to collect, hopefully get time tomorrow.
I am very glad to hear that your wait time was significantly reduced this time around! Way to go Ares!
Beautiful planes!
I am hoping to pick up my new models from my local games shop tomorrow (Saturday). The owner telephoned me to say that they had arrived earlier this week.
Got hold of a Tripe and had a look at the new man deck.
Looks identical to the Hanriot deck , except it has two sharp right hand turns instead of one left &one right
Models are really nice, need to get a Aviatic now to compare
Looks like Dom is stocked too ! Oh dear !!
lol am assuming from the photo's that you went on a shopping spree? nice one - I have to get Collinshaw's Tripe at the very least
Thanks Barry.
Rob.
After another stay in hospital my fantastic wife visited my LGS the wargames emporium and came back with my WOG order and some new bits for my B.A.O.R project , to cheer me up a bit
.
Hope you're well Richard, & that the new planes help you feel better!
Yes Riichard, do get better soon. What a first rate Good Lady you have there. Cherish her!
Rob.
Cheers lads , hopefully one last operation within the next 3 months and that will be it ,and yes my lady is one in a million saved me 5 years ago and still my reason to go on.
Question about Collishaws Tripe, is the model named Black Maria ?
Indeed it is.
The aircraft of the All-Black Flight were christened with suitable names. Ellis Reid, of Toronto, flew Black Roger; J. E. Sharman, of Winnipeg, flew Black Death; Gerry Nash, of Hamilton, called his machine Black Sheep; and Marcus Alexander, of Toronto, christened his plane the Black Prince. The flight commander, Collishaw, flew a machine which gloried in the name Black Maria.
The real mini is more the dark brown color of the first pic rather than the green of the prototype image, and (though tiny) the name "Black Maria" IS featured on the sides.
Oddly they got the black nose, but NOT the black wheel covers, but that's an easy fix.

As I have remarked elsewhere, one of the strange thing about the Black flight is that the first letter of names of the pilots, Reid, Nash, Alexander, and Sharman, produce the title R.N.A.S.
