Default You Know You're A Gamer When...

...you hear the sound of a truck outside, and can immediately tell: Which delivery company it belongs to; and which house on the street it's pulling up in front of.

(My order of the most-recent WW2 minis arrived today. I heard an engine outside, and knew immediately "UPS truck, and it's outside my house; must be my minis".)

It's really bad when you go on the delivery companies website to track your order 4 or 5 times a day!!! I did say it's bad....not a problem, just bad....like an addiction LOL

Shapeways deliver via UPS. I had one set of observers with lewis guns delivered in a box 21cmx16cmx12cm. The model was only 5.5cmx3.5cm.

Your postman can tell you what is in the box from its weight, and the post mark on it.

This. I almost posted the same thing. "Ok, now it's in Arizona. Ah, it just arrived in Illinois. It's at the sort facility in Ohio today, should be here tomorrow..."

When you actually enjoy reading others' posts concerning their tracking and delivery of game-related packages.

When you reply to others' posts concerning their tracking and delivery of game-related packages, stating that you actually enjoy reading them.

This is so me. It doesn't help that most of my orders are delayed being released. But, I know that packages from 12-7 Games go through Toronto, and packages from Washington, heading for British Columbia (geographically co-located) go through... Los Angeles!?

    Yeah.

Hello. My name is Mike and I'm a WoWaholic.

Chris I have to say the same thing. I hear a truck and since I am the last house on the road I know it's a package for me. I have to pay attention this Friday since I orders some 1/144 early jets (F-Toys).

I don't normally do that -- I just know instinctively when a box is about to appear at my door.

Granted, I was surprised it got here on Tuesday, as it was traveling through Chicago, IL, over Easter weekend. (Chicago is in the top 3 for "US cities with largest Catholic populations"....)

You get your Minis DELIVERED! By Truck?

Poor old me has to drive 7 klms into Moruya to check if there is a parcel chit in my P.O.Box & then stand in a line to get my boxes & then drive the 7 clicks back before I can even look at my new goodies.
    Ahhh the anticipation!

I now have my own box in the Parcel Office, I'm on first name terms with the staff there; I no longer have to show ID, and sometimes they recognise my car pulling up outside and fetch my parcels out before I even go in!
They call me to the front of the queue on those occasions!

There is a nice young driver of UPS responsible for deliveries in my village. My orders placed in the online shop are delivered next day in the morning, usually just before 9 a.m. He must see the colorful shop label on the parcels, so he knows the sender. We always have a short chat, while I place my signature on his tablet. When I am away, he knows where to leave the parcel and just sends me a text message. The deliveries cost less than 1 Euro each and it goes smoothly. It is definitely too easy nowadays to buy by clicking the mouse.

Well, it is not that bad unless they hang your photo on the main wall under a statement "These are the customers we do not support."

[That was one of the best scenes in one of our comedy movies, a kind of "Monty Python" sense of humour.]

For me its more a quick 3 rap on the front door preceded by a thump on the porch.

Also known as getting serious withdrawal symptoms if it is too long between games - I totally agree with you on this one!

NOTE: Even when you try playing War Thunder or something similar like that these withdrawal symptoms persist ... It's just not the same!
